no loss for me today. never mind. second day of SW for me - red day as i was eating out and already knew what i wanted - and it's not going bad, had 1 Heb and half a Hea, and free food for lunch (duck salad). Dinner will be omelette or egg on toast. I quite fancy some bacon but dunno if i should, i know it's 'free' but i still cant bring myself to allow it!!!

Well done all the losers (sorry i havent named you all, the list got too long!!) but big thumbs up to everybody!!

Looking forward to hearing how the garlic beans went petrichor!

    K xx

ps- had an omelette (free) with cheese (the other half of my hea portion) bacon (free-and i cut off all the fat coz i really hate it!) tomato and mushroom and onion (free veg) with a bit of wholegrain toast (2nd Heb) with some low fat spread but i cant work out the syns for that.
So far i have had 8.5 syns - salad dressing (runny hoisin sauce) and half a choc chip cookie! so i think have enough syns left to cover the spread if need be!

ps does anyone know how i can find out the syns for coke, sprite, j2o, etc?

  • thankyou all for being so welcoming - I am really in the mood at the moment - very determined. I will be joining a WW class at work in two weeks when I come back from my hols, but am trying to be good straight away (and hopefully not be too bad when Im off!). Only thing is that the WW class is a weigh-in only - no meeting. I really need the talk part, but will have to do without and just stick in.

Starlight - you are a model for me - you have done amazingly in 6 months! WOW - I bet you feel great!

Well I managed to get out for a short run tonight - only a mile but need to build up again. After reading some of the posts on here I think I need to go out and get some new scales :o if you stand on mine for long enough and jiggle about a bit the pointer moves down ;) and they will not start on zero either so it is a bit of guesswork really :rotfl:

newlywed and LadySophia - you have put me off buffets for life

right I have copied it this time......lets see if it works

Good luck with starting WW, Im sure you'll love it. I must admit I dont miss classes at all. Ive been going it alone this time, I do use another diet forum for the 'talking part' lol

I feel so much better than I did I really do. Something else to consider depending how much you have to lose, I take 2 photos every month... one face on, one side on. Its BRILLIANT to be able to see the differences in them.

petrichor I am with you on the not even for one week do you want to see the scales go up, all this is too terribly hard to go back up...the other thing is that I am not so sure that I can keep this rigidness up for life so will do as you have said try to keep it within the 2lb lee-way and keep on top of it, I can't let it rule my life though which it can, you can become so centred in loosing, the conversations, the food to be eaten, how to get out of do's because of not wanting to eat etc etc can over-take, I am practising reaching a happy medium but always at the back of my mind I have the fact that I know me and I am a greedy pig and given half the chance will eat anyone under the table!!!

Oh I love chorizo, spanish ham serrano, spanish food, olives, yum, paella....

The thing is, that now you now how to lose weight, if the worst happened and you had a slight gain, you just need to be strict with your intake for a few days and you'll lose it again. As you say, you can't possibly continue in the same vein for the rest of your life - you would carry on losing weight, and it's the obsessiveness that can turn into anorexia. I know from experience that people get very bored when someone is obsessive about what they eat and drink to the point that it affects their social life.

I've probably said this before, but it bears repeating - the more you deny yourself foods you like, the more you want them - so it really is about moderation and the willpower to stop at a small, healthy amount, whether it's chorizo or paella. :D

    Hi Katmad
    coke 330ml can =7 syns
    diet coke = free

Don't forget you must have both your b's every day and at least 1 of the a's The SW plan has been worked out to give the right nutritonal balance and also you might find it harder to lose weight if you don't have both.
Re not having the bacon -I know it is hard to get you head round being to have as much as the free food as you like but after 9 weeks it is still working for me :D

    Evening all :hello:

What a busy week! Welcome to all the newcomers - it's great that this thread is getting so well known, stick with us! :D

Well done to everyone that lost this week, and as usual, commiserations if you gained. I'm pleased to say that I lost 1lb this week, which I'm happy with. If I can do the same for the next 2 weeks I'll get the July target, and I'm determined to do it.

Slimmer of the Week goes to Maniac, with a whopping 8lb weight loss. woohoo.gif

And Congratulations.gif to Ajaz, Bindiboo, Efrieze and Suggs who have all achieved the July target.

If I've missed anyone, please let me know.

Have a good week everyone :D
