    Morning all :hello:

My internet connection is decidedly erratic at the moment - I wrote a longish post last night, pressed submit and lost the lot  so here goes again with a quick post - just colouring my hair so I've only got a few minutes before it all falls out ;)

Ajax - great photos, you've done really well. :T

Furrypig - you're not too late for the August challenge. It's a good idea to have slimming buddies that can motivate and support you.

Petrichor - (you gorgeous slim thing!) - will you actually use the Radley bag as your everday bag, or keep it for best? I was looking at some but I know if I bought one, it would probably gather dust in the cupboard, waiting for the right time to use it! My everyday bag is years old, but so familiar, with a place for everything - if only Radley made one like it. :rotfl:

Right, time's up, better go and wash off this smelly gunk. Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi, feels like I've been away from my pc for ages. Just very busy with visitors and days out, nothing exciting like a holiday. Well done all who have lost or maintained. I have had a little read but I am missing my exercise if I sit here and read all past posts I have missed. I have lost another lb. still losing very slowly but I am happy with that.

Spot the Tyrone shirt delly? :)

Wow, fantastic difference indeed Ajax. Thanks for showing us. No sign of a dirty mac though, so is it really you? :rotfl:

I completely understand about needing a change and am sure this new challenge will be the spur you need.

Forgot to mention I tried Quorn 'meatballs' for the first time last week: put them in ratatouille and grated cheese allowance on top and they were delicious.

Got a fab veggie WW morrocan dish at 1.5 points I'll post up later. We have it all the time.

    Well done furrypig :T

    Hi everyone!

Just reporting in with a 3lb weightloss for this week which I am very pleased about so just hope it continues (this was the first week!).

I have got together with 5 other mums and we weigh in once a week and encourage each other and pay £1 into a pot and at the end of 15 weeks we hope to have lost at least 15 lbs each and we will use the money to treat ourselves to a night out at the curry house!!! Not very slimming I know!

    furrypig

Well done furrypig :j :j and what a great idea :T Do you take it in turns to meet in each others homes or in a pub (or whatever)? Rosemary Conley started out in a similar way ;)

WW recipe as promised earlier for Ajax, and anyone else.
(If on SW like me it is 2.5 syns per portion)

    WW recipe for Moroccan Stew

3 points per recipe (pine kernels & apricots) Serves 4

    1 onion, sliced
    1 garlic clove, crushed
    1 lge aubergine, diced
    225g carrots, sliced
350g butternut squash, peeled, de-seeded and diced
1 tsp ground; cinnamon; cumin; coriander
    2 tblsp tomato puree
    300ml veg stock
50g no soak dried apricots, chopped (1 point)
    2 tblsp fresh coriander
    1 tsp fresh mint
    25g toasted pine kernels (2 points, I think – double check. (15g def = 1.5 points))

spray lge casserole with fry light and briefly cook onion, garlic, aubergine, carrots and squash. Add cinnamon, cumin, coriander. (Original recipe said cook veg for 5 mins in 1 tblesp olive oil but this seemed like a waste on points to me so I don’t)
Add tomato puree and stock. Bring to boil and simmer for 40 minutes, occasionally stirring.
Add apricots, fresh coriander and mint and cook for further 5 mins. Scatter pine kernels on top just before serving.

Original recipe had tofu in it. We always have this with lamb, but could be served with lamb style quorn or quorn pieces, just point up accordingly. I also used to serve with cous cous but I cut that out since starting on SW. As I became familiar with recipe I was less fussed about sticking to veg quantities – I chuck in more as it is free and fills me up. Remember to add more of the spices & stock etc if you do this to keep strength of flavour. I cook enough to freeze 2 portions as a ‘ready meal’.

    Enjoy :D
