Hi everyone. Had the day off today as the little one was not well enough to go in :( He's not bedridden, but still got sore thought, streaming nose, so I thought I'd let him stay in today.

Today at home, was quite productive though :D My room which was a complete an utter mess is 70% de-cluttered. I received that final push from nowhere and stuck at it. At least 6 bin bags full of clothes and rubbish. I was ruthless (I'm a hoarder :o) If I haven't seen or wore it in 6 months-it had to go :D Very pleased. At least March has gone out on a high, lol!

Take care everyone and if i'm not back on tonight-see you all on the over side :D

Going through statements and recollecting the month, it looks like I only spent on 5 days this month, not including DD's but physically purchasing something, so I'm very pleased :T

    Hi all
Quick check in, spendy day here but mostly in preparation for Aprils budget, which will be pretty tight, ordered shopping to be delivered tomorrow so i guess it corn flakes or beans on toast for tea, at least that won't take to much preparing.

Argh I've had one of those all over the place days. I will sit down and work out my goals for next month later tonight and post them.

Fmes - good luck for your 10k too, how did you plan your training? Were you already quite fit or are you planning to walk/run your 10K? I used to do fell races and particularly enjoyed an easter one called the Bunny run which was on Haworth Moors (very beautiful) and you got chocolate at the end.

Sorry just realised I never replied to you :(

I haven't had a plan apart from to try run further every week. I started doing 3 minutes running with lots of walking in between and got up to 5 miles in about an hour last week. I'm hoping for less than an hour and a half, will probably include some walking especially if there are any hills. I am definitely not fit but my fitness has increased and I'm finding it fairly enjoyable :)

I would love to do a race with chocolate as the prize!

    Evening Torties,

Well now the end of play is nearly at hand. How do we all feel?

I am sat at work prepping to leave very soon! I have done my money transfers, the CC has a little left on it purely because I need cash to catch the bus every day and am very annoyed about that....

I might end up transferring from the Travel Fund just to get it off the card but am not sure I want to do that ........ having it there makes me annoyed and less likely to add anything more to it even if it is a small amount...

I am going to add the total amount I have saved for my travels (including what has been spent) as it's the over all total that's important and not whats left after vaccinations and flights etc.... the grand total when I leave will be a fun reveal.....

So this month has been a source of celebration for three of us and yet some have found the month hard and a bit of a struggle. We have a new little contender on board (baby Eilis - pronounced A-Lish if I am not mistaken) and much to look forward to in the month ahead...

I am signing out for this month, with a fond farewell to the hardship of this month just DRAGGING on too long and look forward to a new month with renewed vigour and determination to make IT COUNT!

You have all been amazing and really make these challenge what they are. It's gonna take me a while to get home so I need to get to bed early in order to wake up and welcome April in at 00:00...

See you all on the other side....

    Onwards and Upwards!!!

The end of the month at last. Mixed results for me this month. Here goes:

£162.38/£150 - Grocery. A little over budget but I do have a full freezer and store cupboard. I also have enough chicken food to last all of April and most if not all of May. All in all not too disappointed with this.

£105.09/£100 - Fuel. OH filled up with £30 on Saturday so should last almost a week. Will need to up the budget in April as lots of trips and visiting of relatives planned whilst I'm on holiday from work.

20/20 - SFD. Really happy with this although it was touch and go at the end as OH went shopping today to make me a special belated Mothers Day meal to say thank you for everything I've done for his kids. He used his own money for the £2.74 he spent so I could make my SFD target - he made a 3 course meal from scratch using store cupboard ingredients and only had to buy 2 items :T

21/21 - LTW. Again pleased with this. I was tempted to treat myself to a deep fried Mars bar, just for the experience but they had taken them off the menu at work so that was a bonus. I had taken lunch in but was going to have a treat.

£21.20/£50 - Social Budget. Trip to Ideal Home Show. Free ticket thanks to MSE. Train tickets less than budgeted for due to incompetence of rail staff. Picnic lunch was a bargain at 2.55. Soft drinks at the show £4.85 for 2 small bottles. Complete rip off but own fault as forgot to take any with us

Off to plan my April Shower Challenge. See you on the other side.

Have already gotten rid of my totals (genius that I am) however I kinda know the jist.

spend-free days: 20/20 (by the skin of my teeth again).
food budget: over by about £30 I think.
petrol budget: over by £0.01 as missed the exact £50.
    :undecided

So, a bit of a mixed bag really. I kinda knew the budget would be tight as I had reduced it a fair bit the previous month and then took off another £20 for this month.
However, we did better than I was expecting so can't complain really.
    :o

Feeling a bit brighter and a lot more positive. Roll on April.

    Final check-in as a March [STRIKE]hare[/STRIKE] tortoise

Exceeded my SFD target, 23/20. I am pleased with this. I think I slacked off a bit in Feb and just got a little bit lazy about not making do.

Food budget and General spends, slightly over, but not over my total budget which is okay with me.

Main achievement for this month is paying off the credit card, something that has been niggling for a while.

Didn't do very well on the de-cluttering, but am planning on getting this sorted over the next few months as part of project move!

    Evening all,

Think I really need to get a grip with these targets in April as I am starting to not achieve any of them and I'm getting too complacent

There have been far too many days that I spent money without needing to on that day so I need to plan my SFDs, rather than just hope for the best.

Looking forward to the April Challenge and hoping to finally kick the credit card debt in the bum by the end of April.
