    morning,

i have posted on the page and already have my little badge :) was very quick as well!

it was about £11k which was my career development loan (for my postgrad course) and a holiday on the credit card. i have been doing a hard slog to get it cleared for nearly 4 years but have added quite a bit to it as bought a house and also went on another 3 expensive holidays :o so prob paid at least £500 off most months for 4 years, that is around £24k eeeek

plan now is to save up £3k for my holiday in nov and around £900 to get a new window and decorate my bedroom. want this done by oct but is dependent upon me getting another lodger as soon as my current one moves out :(

then would like to start saving £250pm towards next holiday (no idea where) so that i always have enough to go away without getting in debt. would also like to build up a £1k emergency fund then start to overpay mortgage. will need to decide whether to keep lodgers after holiday to allow me to overpay mortgage or whether i would prefer my own space. will see how it works out!

    good luck today SiannieLaz :T:T

Yesterday turned out to be a SFD after all, which means that it was SFD 21, today is 22 and I have no plans for tomorrow so that makes my March total 23 (in case I don't get on here tomorrow).

We did go to the supermarket to get ingredients to make rice crispie treats but the OH kindly paid saving my SFD and the £2 odd I have left in my pocket. Still got about £40 odd left in my budget but I didn't take it out of the bank. So, the change will go in my terramundi and the 'notes' will roll over.

I took the plunge on friday and paid off my CC. I had been saving money each month and sending it to the CC. I had also been saving elsewhere and borrowed some from my house moving fund. Based on the logic that I have the money there and now that I am DEBT FREE I can pay back the money I borrowed each month fairly easily and quickly.

Signed up for the April challenge, very sneaky Kat putting it on in the middle of the night, lol. I've been checking the site all day, even the OH has been reminding me to check, that's how much I was looking forward to it.

Working on the April rules with the OH today and will post them up later, probably after taking her to the dreaded train station. We have a love hate relationship with all train stations at the moment.

SiannieLaz - Good Luck for today. I started running about 3 weeks ago after a 10 year gap , I am enjoying it but it is such hard work. I cycle almost every day too and I totally love that.

Fmes - good luck for your 10k too, how did you plan your training? Were you already quite fit or are you planning to walk/run your 10K? I used to do fell races and particularly enjoyed an easter one called the Bunny run which was on Haworth Moors (very beautiful) and you got chocolate at the end. Obviously in my head I was Catherine from Wuthering Heights whilst doing it :rotfl:.
Yesterday was a spend day as I had to get flowers for mum and MIL but I bought a big bunch and split them then rewrapped. Very :money:and both mums were happy with them. I have reached my 19 SFD target though.

Right am off to check out the April thread.

Good morning (it's 11:59 so still morning).
    ;)

Was a bit shattered last night so didn't post (I don't think). I didn't actually do much, fell asleep straight after supper and woke up at 10:30 this morning.
    :o

Due to running out of budget, we have (yet again) had another spend-free day.
This brings us to the magic total of 20!!
    :j

Away to have a think about april's challenge. I don't know if I like having complete free reign, I don't know where to even start.
    :embarasse

Keep plodding on torties (apart from siannelaz, of course).
    Hugs.

    Congratulations Shyspender well done :T

Well yesterday and today NSDs. My little one has come down with a flu type bug :( so it looks like i'll be off work tomorrow. The poor thing is streaming and very bunged up.

Exercise has taken a back seat due to my lack of energy with my monthlies:o but plan to do something today. I will meal plan today and tackle the house work.

I have been feeling that I'm wavering as I feel i've probably plateaued too early. I have made a big enough dent to get started, but feeling progression too slow to stay motivated and am questioning my strategy ect. So for next month my only goal other than the big three, is to remain on track and don't fall by the wayside, then in two years time, think if only! Had I started this time last year, I'd be free :) Anyway, have a great day everyone and happy mothers day to all that are mothers, lol.

Take care and don't give up to those still fighting and to those that have KO'ed the debt -well done :T

    MORNING TORTIES!!!

Well I am up, washed and awaiting the landlords departure. I must admit he has hardly been here since I moved in which is just as well because he talks and talks and talks and I am very much the type to kee to myself unless the talk is intellectually stimulating and actually neccessary - banal chit chat does my head right after a nightshift. You have been warned if we ever meet :rotfl:... but he just whinges about his job. He forgets I don't want a best friend, just a place to sleep thanks very much...

ANYWAY... I have a pile of washing on the floor being eyed susicously by a misheivous moggy who I think will end up on top of it soon. Found her on the highest shelf of the airing cupboard the other day. Which makes me wonder how she got the door open...???

Love the excitment about April's challenge and am every more excted myself to see what you all have set for yourselves.. I hope there is some decluttering malarky gonna hapen. Can't be on my own with that..:rotfl:

Right back later.. gotta try shoving 40kg of washing into the machine..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
