My last one went in on the 18th March and was offered around a month later. Part of the delay was them telling me an employment contract was a contract extension despite it having a covering letter saying "Congratulations on your new job, as discussed in our meeting here is a copy of your contract of employment" and then at the top of the next page in big bold writing "Contract of employment". I can not decide which is worse, that someone delayed a case because they did not open the attachment or that they opened it and could not decipher it was an employment contract.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Indian document checking is their biggest issue.
The item ticks the box and it moves on, or it doesn't and the case requirement is put back on and you aren't told about it. You find it when you log in and see it's back.
Then you have to phone up and ask "what was wrong with the xxx I uploaded?" and have a rigmarole establishing why they won't accept it.
I think we've been taking extra care over everything we upload and can now predict what they will and won't accept.I am a mortgage broker. Thats probably the most frustrating thing - pick up a bloody phone and say it has not been accepted and why. Otherwise I have to call you and spend 15-30 minutes on hold behind every other poor sod who has had to call for the same reason.
I called my account manager and he sorted it, but it still held everything up by a day or 2. It is just unneccesary hassle and a waste of everyones time.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. So it's not just me that is feeling that this forum has gone a bit flat in recent months?
Perhaps the message from the same questions coming up is that the standard of information available for the borrower is so poor in the market.
At least on Cherry you get a laugh from the posers posting their supposed income levels.I am a Mortgage Broker

Whilst I understand the mortgage process can be very stressful, chasing me for an update 5+ times a day is not going to speed things up!

I generally have a couple of clients at any one time that require micro managing.
To be fair I generally handle difficult cases so a lot of my clients are nervous wrecks to start with!I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.

things that have hacked me off this past month
1. Clients who won't help themselves by providing paperwork required to complete advice process
2. Clients who "just want rates" and don't want to do a factfind (conversation terminated immediately I cannot be arsed with tyre kickers)
3. Clients who try to extract as much information as possible from me before signing my client agreement, I mean do they really think I'm stupid?
4, buy to let investors who approach me with a juicy portfolio then I find out all properties are on resi mortgages with no consent to let , high LTV and no HMO licence and the investor is still registered as living at 2 of them!
As much as I love the geeky bits of our job dealing with people like these is such a headache. Its a pity we don't have paraplanners for mortgages as I'd be there like a shotI am a Mortgage Adviser
