Natwest :wall:
Normally never have an issue with them; had a mortgage offer to be sent out - called for an update on due date and they then queried if the Homebuyers had been paid for... despite the fact it had been carried out already.
On top of that, the client banks with Natwest. Ended up sending them a bank statement with the payments showing from March 31st to try and speed the offer up... "Will be 4 working days for underwriter consideration". I'm sure it doesn't require an underwriter to look at two payments and confirm the fees were paid 2 weeks ago. :undecided0 -
had my first MMR related meltdown
did an application about 3 weeks ago with Halifax - all fine, mortgage agreed subject to survey
survey carried out and then get the email
decline as do not lend on freehold shared ownership (it's a 40% share of a house)
I phone them up - it is not freehold, it is leasehold as per the mortgage application submitted. The lease is 83 years etc
Halifax - I will amend it back but that is now a material change and comes under mmr. Can we have bank statements, new questions asked re self employed income etc
Now quite worried it will fail the new rules. I asked them to put on their notes that we did not change the application... the surveyor cocked up the survey report

Do you know if Halifax are actually using their new MMR system? I heard it was having issues so they delayed going live.0 -
The one I put on yesterday was an mmr application. Lots of extra questions around self employed and specifying commitmentsI am a Mortgage Adviser

Interesting, what commitments were they particularly asking about?0 -
Nationwide uncommunicated policy alteration number one.
They no longer request employer references, unless the applicant is temporary/agency.
Nationwide uncommunicated policy alteration number two.
They no longer accept twelve months' bank statements to evidence mortgage payments.I am a mortgage broker. How do they prove a future pay increase then?
I have a case that I got the employer reference requested before the MMR changes, but it arrived with them after.
Currently showing as Accept but they keep calling and changing things, they dont have a clue what they are doing!
I went through about 18 months with them being my favourite lender, they did everything right, now all that good feeling is gone due to their poor service post MMR!I am a Mortgage Adviser

We'd got to the stage of being able to anticipate what would be requested, so we'd pre-empt it and submit an app and call the service centre and get a reference emailed out immediately.
I called to do that yesterday to be given this policy change.
I don't see how you can get future income taken into account at all. Our issue is with an annual bonus which is guaranteed. The reference would have confirmed it as basic. We now have to get a payslip from January 2013 to go with January 2014 and they will only allow a certain percentage...

This does seem silly, although to see frustration try putting anything through on Santander's website.
Or worst still try and call Halifax, about anything!I am a Mortgage Broker
