    Oh my $$$$$$$ god!
8 phone calls from nationwide now.
Told to re-dip it because a middle name was missing.
Then told it will take a week before i get an answer from an underwriter.

Just after i re-dip i get ANOTHER phone call telling me to change his income despite getting a letter from his employer confirming his wage.

They are basing commission on last years P60 despite us not evening needing the commission for affordability.

My hairline is not doing great at the best of times but today has not helped.

So, i redip the case and get told they can transfer everything across great. Then i get a call back telling me they can transfer all the documents across but it will take 2 days and then another 2 days to look at them, where as if i just upload them again it will only take 2 days.

I ask why they need to re-assess documents they have already assessed... errrr, we have high standards. I actually burst out laughing.
    The Ten Nationwide Commandments;-

    1. Never try to apply for someone who lives in a flat. It's pretty much a guaranteed "refer" as their system can't cope with the address. Call E-Support as you'll need them to remove the extra credit search after you mess it up!

    2. Never miss out a middle name. It's an automatic re-key from scratch.

    3. Never input an income if you don't need it. It will have to be verified if you do.

    4. If you are asked to evidence mortgage payments, you can use just the sheet from the bank statement showing the monthly payment.

    5. If you are asked to provide proof of rent, it has to be the whole statement, not just the page showing the rent.

    6. Enter 3% of the equity loan in the affordability calculator, but enter £1 in the DIP/App equity loan payment field.

    7. Never forget they only offer upto 4x for the self-employed and that includes directors of their own limited companies.

    8. Employer's reference and letting agent references can be emailed out, but the response has to be faxed or posted back.

    9. Never miss anything off affordability that's on the payslips.

    10. Always mention future childcare costs when the applicant is on maternity leave.

All that makes for a fairly painless experience! :D

I stopped at the first 3.

    Skipton on the other hand....
Send them half an application the back of a napkin written in doctors handwriting speak to the underwriter - heres your mortgage offer.

Someone at nationwide was going to unlock my case so i could amend his income at 4.30pm.... guess what...lets call nationwide yet again! I swear i must have spoken to everyone in that place twice.

    Ah, I forgot one.

The need to get a referred DIP unlocked so you can amend it.

You used to have to phone, then they'd unlock it in twenty minutes for fifteen minutes.

You'd forget, get a phone call and end up having to call back as your window had closed.

    :D

One question - Halifax. How many times should you have to click the male/female thing and the diplomatic immunity question? It's my number one system for disappearing information.

If you tell it they've been at current address more than three years, your application summary afterwards says the client moved in that day!

Incredible. Requote required. Resubmit required. Corrective action required. :D

I dont think i have ever used Halifax, so im not best placed to answer that.

I like the little building societies, they tend to know what they are doing.

Much as it pains me to say this, we could not survive without Halifax.

    Foreigners
    Contractors
    Agency workers
    Shared equity
    Shared Ownership
    Ignore childcare
    Ignore student loans

    too many to mention!

I don't ever remember writing a RWL justification which simply said "best combination of rate/fees" without an adjunct about their flexibility.

Halifax's new system is much more user friendly - but still a few quirks.

Finally, got though to Shabby to be told the supplied Accountant's Certificate could not be used as the account information was older than 18 months. Asked them to count the number of months since December 2012, and after removing one shoe, they agreed it was somewhere between the fourth and little toe - or the equivalent of 14.75 months. They finally agreed that this was less than 18 months. A wait of over 1 hr 40 mins for Shabby to answer the phone to explain the bleeding obvious. Ho. ho!:o

Most of my cases include adverse.

I would hate to do cheapest rate/deal time after time. I prefer something with a bit of meat on the bones.

I think i am on double digit phone calls now. 8.30am (for anyone that knows me i dont do mornings).

I call them back as i missed the call, the lady says im not sure why they called you just ignore it.

I had a phone call an hour ago telling me i needed to add something, im not ignoring the call until you confirm they do not want anything.

    I cant see anything.

Thats not you confirming they dont need anything, i could ignore it like you say and wait 3 days to be told you asked for it.

Turns out they now want 3 months bank statements i uploaded on monday and yesterday.

As i type this i get phone call number 11 asking for branch stamped savings account on a document which has already been signed off on the original DIP.

I have never known anything like this.

We have a lot of rows with Builder/Developers and EA's because we wont tell them which lender we are using or send them DIP copies.

Do you not have a system in which you can print an "AIP accept" which doesn't state the lender?

Thankfully I can print 'Mortgage Certificates' which just glorifies an AIP accept but makes it look like it's from {insert national EA/FS chain here} as opposed to the lender.

I think this thread makes my day, everyday. We've got a couple of cowboys from Woolwich that were presenting to us last week. I was a little hesitant in putting business their way unless it was out-and-out the best product available but some of you have confirmed my initial thoughts are correct.
