Ha ha, if only I was perfect. :rotfl:
I must say though, and this is the honest truth, I have never done an interview where I failed to get the job. BUT I've not changed jobs much so haven't done all that many interviews. I give a good account of myself because I can talk for England and actually sound quite convincing.0 -
Oh boy. I have only ever been turned down for one job... and the feedback was.. "You're too good for the job. You will get bored and leave and we will have to do this all over again" :rotfl:
I too jibberjabber for England

Ha ha, how annoying is that. :rotfl:
Maybe they were right though.0 -
Just dropping in to ramble on randomly about nothing in particular.
Have a list of jobs to do today and so far have done ...... NONE of them. :rotfl:
Well apart from updating YNAB but that's because I love tweaking YNAB, it makes me happy.
It's rather an overcast day here, bit chilly. Taking DD2 into town shortly to get her hair cut. Need to buy some tomato feed and some batteries. Last tomato feed purchase of the year I reckon.
Have a few quid left in my 'coffee shop' budget on YNAB so will probs treat myself to a coffee. Have some chocolate secreted in my bag to go with it.Have almost completely busted my 'lunch at work' budget (I rarely buy lunch at work but allow myself a tenner as contigency). But in fairness, yesterday's mini-splurge was not just for lunch, a lot of it came home with me. I have only one week left at work this month as I have a week off. :j
My sister is coming over at the end of September and we are going to spend a whole week doing stuff that we like doing, without the rest of our families traipsing behind looking bored. :T
Anyway, better wander off and get some stuff done, I always seem to squander Saturdays.0 -
Well, I've not had tooo bad a Sunday so far:
- Dropped in application for a different Christmas job at a garden centre. Wish me luck! :xmassmile
- Resisted the urge to buy another coffee - am having one at home right now instead. :coffee:
- Spent the grand sum of £1 on discounted lettuce seeds, which are for next season.
- Dinner (beef in red wine) has been in the slow cooker for some hours now - smells divine.
- Bed stripped and bedding in the washing machine.
- Kitchen all cleaned up.
- Clean the kids' bathroom.
- Clean downstairs loo.
- Quick tidy and hoover of our bedroom.
- Weed the front driveway.
- Plant up some winter salad leaves, some to grow outside, some in greenhouse.
- Harvest some chillies.
- Nip over the allotment and pick some raspberries.
- Make some raspberry and apple crumble.
- More laundry work to do.

Now about to do a bit of freelance work then off to bed.0 -
Hey p&f,
Been AWOL so just catching up on all the goings on.
Sounds like it's been really up and down, but you're doing great.
Hope you hear something about the Christmas job soon - what a cheat that stupid job that accepted you then wouldn't give shifts. Their loss anyway!

Yes, I like to think so.
I have another 'group interview' tomorrow at a different place. I have no idea what this 'group interview' might consist of and I can't say I'm very keen on them but we'll give it a go.
To be honest, I'm not going to be ferociously disappointed if I don't get it. These temporary Christmas jobs are by their nature unskilled - people just need to be articulate, friendly, responsible etc but not have any specialist skills. But I can't help feeling that the fact that I already have a skilled job can work against me.
But we'll see, all I want is to earn the extra cash in a reasonably pleasant way (hence my choice of potential employer). All this was clear on my application and they've invited me for interview so I go with an open mind. Just hope I don't say/do anything too stupid.0 -

Thanks.I haven't been very good so far this weekend, Brizzled, and in truth I'm feeling a bit rough today. But I am doing my best to ignore it - I find most of my imagined illnesses give up when ignored, a bit like a truculent child.
However, I did pot up my big tubs at the front yesterday - they were looking very bedraggled and sorry for themselves. I find it sad ripping out summer bedding but then feel happy putting in the spring bulbs and imagining them popping up in March/April. Topped them with violas for some winter colour, copying Monty Don on Gardeners' World.
Lots ot get on with over the next couple of days - a listy post to follow.0
