Hi supersaver1000 - wow, that was a speedy response. :T
I really should get back into posting more regularly because it's so good to get the support. I am doing this whole money-saving debt-busting frugal-living thing largely on my own so it's great to chat about stuff on hear and read about what everyone else is doing. :)

    Yay, you're back :D

Hope all is well :) Happy Pay day!

  • Lovely to see you back.

Sealed pot total is FAB! I must do that this year :D

Keep coming back. The support on here is invaluable and there are always little ideas here and there to spur me on or give me some more oomph :) and failing that, it is lovely seeing how others are doing!

  • Thanks people, it's good to be back. :D

I had a VERY lazy day yesterday lounging about on the sofa in front of a blazing fire - I've been unwell all week and soldiered on at work so I awarded myself a lazy day. But I really have to get on with stuff today - the house is a tip. So far this morning I have cooked breakfast and given my son a lift somewhere and that's about it. :o

Have a long list of things to do though, so will get started now. It's a lovely autumn day and the sun is shining. :)
  • OK, so first job of the day has been done - have got myself a nice 0% balance transfer credit card with 0% fees with a certain mega-supermarket. The credit limit is more than enough to transfer my entire Barclaycard balance, which is just running out of its 0% so I'm a happy bunny.

The 0% interest only lasts for 12 months but it will be paid off by then. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again - need a better-paid job. I've done my time picking up new skills in my current job and they've definitely got value for money from me so I don't feel bad about scouting around. 2015 is going to be a good year, I can feel it in my water. :D
  • Howdy again. :D

I've been looking at my budget for December and it is looking rather dodgy. I will just make it if I am EXTREMELY careful. I have a new credit card with 0% on purchases as well as balance transfers so if things get very very tight, I could use that but I really want to get through this Christmas without using a credit card. I will use my overdraft though but you, know, one thing at a time. :rotfl:

Anyway, I keep tweaking and re-jigging everything so hopefully it will all work out. I also need to raise some more funds somehow, just a hundred quid or so, so I need to get working on that.

Meanwhile, here's a good, bad and ugly update. :D

    The good:

Bought some VERY discounted luxury hand cream for Christmas presents.

    The bad:
It will cost almost 18 quid to get my boots soled and heeled. Am tempted not to go back and collect them. :o

    The ugly:
The car needs a service - it is really struggling to start these mornings - and this will cost a large sum of money. Sigh. :( (Though truth be told, if I serviced it now I wouldn't actually pay the bill for weeks ;).)
  • Caught up - you're doing great - well done on the totals paid off to date !!! and well done on the zero percent Card !!

Nothing that hasn't given already. :D

I will probably book in the car to be done in a week or so. That means I almost certainly won't be paying the bill until after my January payday.

Can I admit that I already have 3 decent pairs of winter boots as well as walking boots and wellies? But the boots in for repair are rather nice leather ankle boots and I reckon I will get a good two years out of them at least. So I will collect them next week.

Did a fairly decent main food shop this evening as well as some Christmas stuff. I am getting better at being disciplined.

Cooked a nice stir-fry for tea and have two portions ready to go in the freezer for lunches next week.

    And to round up ......

The good - Got lots of 'You are wonderful' comments about my work today.

The bad - Ate a puff pastry mince pie when I am supposed to be eating low carb. :o

The ugly - REALLY need to get a lot of housework done this weekend as it is all looking a bit dusty and neglected. :o:o

Still, it's Friday now and I'm off to watch I'm a Celeb. :D
