I have posted all about it earlier today lol if you want to check my post . I don't think the ones who read it before would like to read it again lol.

To summarise our problem was when people phoned us we couldn t hear them because of some fault. Bt said the fault was in our house, they lied, problem was at the exchange and we paid £35 to a guy who came and proved that they were at fault as we didn t want a £129 odd bill either :(

I must have missed that emerald, I seem to have a problem similar. We were with BT but been with Sky for a few years now, but sometimes when we answer phone we can't hear caller because of a dreadful crackling noise. It only happens to a couple of particular callers though, strange.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Ohhhhhh don t mention BT to me . I ve had a bellyfull of them lately. Not because of BT infinity though. I ve got through to automated voices today a few times and a girl in India. :(

We ditched BT last year because of their Indian call centres. Due to the language difficulties our address / surname changed several times and the biggest misunderstanding of all they cancelled our internet :(:(

In the end we switched to Plusnet (which is BT) but if you need to contact them then most likely you'll get a friendly Yorkshire accent :T:T pay a couple of quid more for the privilege but it's worth it IMO :)

We are always going to pay roughly the same price for broadband because of where we live and pretty dire speeds too. No super cheap broadband for us
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

  • Evening peeps - RANT ALERT (sorry)

Ok, need a favour please, has anyone had problems with their phone after they had BT infinity installed.

Waited in for the engineer this afternoon who was a no-show and sick of being in a queue for 20mins and then have to explain all over again to someone in India (I think).

Since the upgrade, my phone does not ring at this end for incoming calls - although there is a line.

Engineer re-booked for the morn between 1 - 6pm and I will be flaming if I have to cough up £129. Phone worked fine before the upgrade.

Please tell me I am not the only one who has come across this problem.

RANT OVER (thank you for listening).

Now, how is abody the day? x

I sympathise, not bt infinity but we had a similar problem last year when changing from ttalk to sky, was supposed to be seamless, no interruption or loss of line. We went almost a week in december with no line or internet waiting for a bt engineer. They all blamed each other for it, it was ridiculous. We tried the test line as enterprise mentioned without joy. We didnt get charged and I cant see how they would have a basis for charging you. Hope you get it sorted soon. x

There is a lot of weather damage to cables at the moment, and water has got into various boxes too, if this is a recent problem there is a good chance that is what it is. The lines tend to crackle when there is a problem with the joints.

I don't know if this will work, but I got a newsletter email from gourmet cat food, and it had a link for a £1 coupon.

I love watching children, they are so wonderful in everything they do... even when they are being naughty. I have kept everything (almost) that the children produced, every Christmas all the years home made Christmas cards come out, can you imagine the boys rolling their eyes at me!! Especially when I show the girlfriends!!!!

Ditto but mine extend to GC as well. :o

Sorry to hear about your problems with BT I switched last month, and they did a similar thing to me, it must be a common thing with the engineers not showing. Not sure if it is any use to you but try this number if you need to call them again, they were fairly helpful when I called them with my problems 0800400456.

Hope everyone is ok, just come on now and see new thread is up to 30ish pages so about to read back...
If I have the energy.. Thanks for the new thread lutzi.

Well on a positive note then at least mine did turn up and at 8.20 am too. I ve also noticed that my broadband cost was going up and up and they never told me. I soon put a stop to that though but basically this girl in India admitted that it's up to the customers to challenge their bills and to see if they can have a reduction and if they don't they won't. My broadband was £19 a year ago and this month it was £33 odd including a pound or two cost for calls. A big difference that I didn t realise.
  • I'm awa to see far grumpy guts has hidden his screwdrivers , back soon if not frazzled lol.

Oh poop - found the screwdrivers and had a go at the socket. Started to unscrew but the whole lot is coming away from the backing box, so I tightened the screws up again - sod it I'll wait till the engineer turns up the morn (surely they won't not bother for a second time).
  • When BT switched us to Infinity in June last year we experienced many issues and it took until October for them to be resolved. I have since complained as we was without Broadband, TV and Telephone during those months. They have now confirmed they will refund us £283.86. It has taken some complaining but eventually they agreed to refund us. I was fortunate as every time we had a problem, I would call them so they had a log of all my complaints. It's a laborious task to call them when there is a is an issue but it certainly helped when I asked for a refund!
