Helpline said that the engineer checked the local exchange.
It is very easy, just unscrew it and then it pulls off. There should not be any wires attached to this part as you have no extension points. If you plug the phone into the socket that is revealed then try calling it whatever happens is down to BT and not you.
To be honest, as you only have the one socket I would be very surprised if it is down to yourselves.
As for BT checking the local exchange, well, I've heard that before :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
We've been out to "internal wiring faults" before, plug the phone into the test socket and no line. We get BT to check the line while we are there and all of a sudden there is a line fault :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I have posted all about it earlier today lol if you want to check my post . I don't think the ones who read it before would like to read it again lol.
To summarise our problem was when people phoned us we couldn t hear them because of some fault. Bt said the fault was in our house, they lied, problem was at the exchange and we paid £35 to a guy who came and proved that they were at fault as we didn t want a £129 odd bill either0 -

Ok, need a favour please, has anyone had problems with their phone after they had BT infinity installed.
Waited in for the engineer this afternoon who was a no-show and sick of being in a queue for 20mins and then have to explain all over again to someone in India (I think).
Since the upgrade, my phone does not ring at this end for incoming calls - although there is a line.
Engineer re-booked for the morn between 1 - 6pm and I will be flaming if I have to cough up £129. Phone worked fine before the upgrade.
Please tell me I am not the only one who has come across this problem.
RANT OVER (thank you for listening).
Now, how is abody the day? x
Sorry to hear about your problems with BT I switched last month, and they did a similar thing to me, it must be a common thing with the engineers not showing. Not sure if it is any use to you but try this number if you need to call them again, they were fairly helpful when I called them with my problems 0800400456.
Hope everyone is ok, just come on now and see new thread is up to 30ish pages so about to read back...
If I have the energy.. Thanks for the new thread lutzi.0 -

Typical male.... I once had a rather handsome policeman say this to me, so I suggested we went into a cupboard..... He flustered, and despite my continued insistence and persistence that I had a pulse, he just became increasing flustered, turned bright red and could hardly talk!
Then I highlighted that men do not fancy anything with a pulse, that he is good man who loves his wife lots.....and point proved.
His colleague managed to keep a straight face until I let on, and we were both on the floor laughing....... bless he was so relieved! I later met his wife on a night out, and became quite friendly with her, she loved the story, but her hubby didn't!:o:o:o:o:o

Did you try this out yet Claire? Thinking of getting one as my halogen oven broke (got refund) .
Hi
Yes I made homemade chips tonight in it, best chips I've tasted in ages. We'll worth the money.
If anyone else has one what have you made in it?
Claire xWe're just happy to have a home, a family and our health. Whatever else is just added and it fits.0
