Signup to a free trial for a free month. But make sure you cancel before they start charging you.
Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...

• They forget to mention how hard it is to cancel and that nearly everyone with a "free" trial ends up paying at least one month's subscription which they then have to fight to get back (having cancelled well within the time limit).

@ Fuzz, no you can't. I did exactly this last week, and also emailed and was told that unless I pay £14.99 to sign up they can't help me sorry.

But then if you've already had the free trial, you can't get another one.. it's all wrong.

They should make it 'one free trial per year' or something like.

Is it possible to contact Experian (cancelled free trial), just to ask if you are showing on the electrol roll yet?
It seems a waste of money spending £2 to see if it's updated, just to find it hasn't.

Hi CreditCrunchie

Im sorry you have had bad a bad experience regarding the cancellation process. It is possible to cancel the service on the same day that you open it and still enjoy the full 30 day trial and obviously incur no fee.

I personally have had had no experience of any customer who has cancelled within the 30 day trial but has still been charged, but if this has happened to you then please email me at

Uksocialsupport@experian.com

With your membership details and I will investigate further for you.

I have also responded to the person who posted about help when you are not a member - we do help people under these circumstances, as long as the customer gives us enough information to allow us to locate the item they are talking about. Im sorry if this hasn't been made clear to you.

I hope this helps regards Jo

• T Mobile start ruin my life in 2008, i bought a mobile broadband with 24 months contract and it was not working properly ever so i was keep phoning up but no results, i decided to stop direct debit. Now I am moving house and I found out that I been taken to Court and i have a CCJS of £285. Sigma Red was the company who take me to court on behalf of T Mobile, they hired HL Solicitors to represent at Northampton County Court
New Tenants credit checks brought me this up, i sorted after days spent on the phone as i had no chose but now the referencing Company Maras is asking for Guarantor with £45000 salary. From where ??? I don't know any one
Following this mater I am losing the £500 deposit and £200 referencing checks

No you've done that. As you've found out, you signed a contract, a credit agreement.

You don't just "stop paying". You need to do it properly. If you have issues with service. You do it via writing, etc. Get them to cancel the contract in writing.
• In view of this program, which I've just watched perhaps you can enlighten me on my query. My friend, whom I am helping sort out her finances has joined CreditExpert (so I could see what I was working with). On the 19th February we printed off the report, score 789 fair. Last night, she rang me to say her credit rating had dropped to 654 Poor. I logged into her account (26th February and with her permission) and it said there were two negative factors. Firstly a new credit line had been opened, well this is a new current account as she is switching her accounts, it also has NO overdraft facility so why is it classed as a credit account ? Secondly, and most worryingly it said she had an arrear on one of her accounts. This is not so, the next payment on this account is not due until the 3rd March 2014, also I'm confused as it says on this particular account, last updated 09/03/2014. Does this mean Experian has the ability to update in the future ????? What concerns us, if at present she had applied to re-mortgage, take a new credit card or whatever now, she would likely be declined.
I look forward to a response and I would be quite happy to show you and discuss these reports over a pint in Langtry's !! LOL
