I found a website that deals in buying and selling expnsive things like mine. I filled out a form and apparently they'll get back to me in 24 hours.

Given I was about to sell it for £1500 to the previous woman who thought she might want it (but who then wasn't able to get the cash together) I think I might have £1500 in mind as the lowest amount I'll sell for. I told them I was looking for £2-£3k. Guess I just need to wait and see what they come up with.

Apparently they will come and collect it free of charge then give you a proper valuation in a couple of days. If you don't like the valuation they'll send it back for £20. I need to not be too greedy. This thing is really very old, but in good condition.

Wonder what else I can sell?

I went to see 'A streetcat Named Bob' at the weekend with OH. It was so good, little Bob is just the sweetest and stole the show entirely. I've read the book and imho, the film was just as good if not better.

I'm not sure about the rating though, 12A seems a bit too low for a movie about a guy who's coming off methodone and has a drug -taking friend. There were little kids in the cinema with their parents. I wondered if they thought they were coming to see real life Garfield?

OH bought us cheap tickets with her tastecard but then they were not accesible on her phone when we got there. Much rage on OH's part but we paid full price (with my student discount) and I thought maybe the transaction hadn't worked but no, the cash has been taken out of our account today so I need to get that claimed back.

I've also had another run in with hsbc. I locked myself out of internet banking and had to phone them up. I only use this to check the balance, that's all I can do on there, and I got my passwords reset fine but then the trouble started.

The guy noticed how limited my access is for online banking and wanted to set me up with their 'sitekey' system. I told them I'd had it before and my access was still the same, very limited, so not to bother. He said no, it should be fine. I told him I'd already had it, but that when they updated the app on my phone (they have a very complicated system for getting in) then it wouldn't allow me to do anything and I'd had so much hassle I'd rather not. He said you might want to make overpayments and I told him I could do that making an instant payment via my bank account. He told me no, I couldn't do that. I said 'well I have before!' He told me that would be a miracle if I could do that. I made a payment there and then for 2p but obviously it didn't show immediately. (It went through in a couple of days.) Then he said 'ah, you don't have an hsbc bank account!' I said yes that's right. So then he tried to sell me one.

I ended the call then and was so annoyed at them. Can they not just train their staff??

I would love to get this one paid off so I don't have to deal with them but at £6k it's going to take a while. *sigh*

Bob is on our list to see - glad you liked it. :) I enjoyed the book, but am always a bit wary of book-film adaptations.

We got 6 tickets with our Club Floyds account - I'd forgotten we had them until DH mentioned them.

Hi ani! I've just finished reading your diary from the start, and I'm so happy for all the things that have come together for you since you started this diary, and all the financial progress you've made! You started with not quite enough income to even make ends meet, and now half your debt is gone, you're balancing debt busting and saving (wedding AND retirement), and you've even found extra to throw at the CCs. You and your OH sound so happy, and you have developed strong financial habits as a foundation for your life together. Congrats on all you've accomplished so far, and I've subscribed so I can follow your progress :)

    Hi Kahra :hello:

Thanks for dropping by and for all your kind comments. :) I enjoyed your diary too, so motivating. I think it's all so much easier when your OH is on the same page, that certainly has been a huge help for me.

After this debt is finally gone I plan to move over to the MFW boards or perhaps, if I really go for it, think about FI. I still have a lot to learn, particularly about investing and things like that. But it's all progress and the end of the debt will NOT be the end of my adventures in money management. It's all good.

I look forward to seeing you around. :)

I had an mse score today. I went looking for a diary in Waterstones. Prices ranged from £5 for a wee tiny thing to £15 for anything of a substantial size. Hmm. I then went to the cheap card shop round the corner and found a much nicer one in the perfect size...for 99p :money:

    *feeling pleased with myself*
