Shame about the missed goal, but yay for the debt reduction overall.0 -

This is a wee bit late, but I've been reviewing things for the New Year. It's been nearly 2 years since I started this diary, in a panic, struggling to make ends meet every month. Since then I've paid off £6k in debt :T and taken up car-free living, got all my debt (nearly) onto 0% and reduced monthly minimum payments by over £200 :T. I've also quit smoking saving me loads of money, 6 weeks and counting.

I'm well pleased with all of that.
There's still a long way to go though. My debt is still very big and I now also have a wedding to save up for. My plan for this year is:- to pay off the target card by the end of February
- to pay off a second card by October when the interest is due to start
- save as much as I possibly can for the wedding
- start next year with less than £6k of debt
This looks ambitious but I'm up for a challenge.
Happy debt busting everyone.

Thanks Igamogam and crazy_cat_lady. :T I've surprised myself at how well things have gone. Let's hope the debt keeps going in the right direction...downwards.

I just got some debt from the target card moved to one of my 0% cards. It's not paid off, the debt total is the same, but the target card now stands at £1,240.46.
Fab.

It is good to have a plan and these diaries really are so good at helping us keep track of how far we've come.
I had a dental disaster yesterday. A filling fell out along with half/most of the remaining part of my tooth. One emergency dentist appointment later and I now have root canal treatment to look forward to, along with a £170 bill for the privilege. How I wish I'd looked after my teeth...anyone remember Pam Ayres??? Anyway, at least today it's not sore, and I had cash for the £50 deposit they asked me for, so it was all ok really, just a little freaked at part of my body falling off.
On the plus side, we were taken out for a celebration dinner last night and it was lush. Who knew everyone wants to wine and dine you when you get engaged?
Payday on Monday due to my strange employer paying early for Christmas, early again in January, then everything getting back to normal in the short month of February. I need a budget that includes the tooth situation.
Happy debt busting everyone.
