"Chuckies"??? Thats what we call chickens....have you got some chickens?

Haha!!! No!!! Chuckies are...tiny wee stones that you put in your driveway or somewhere to make it look pretty and have good drainage. They also keep weeds down. Kind of gravel but nicer. :D

I have a massive MSE score to report today!

Just been to my bank, got my account changed to a student one, interest free overdraft granted instantly so I just came home and paid £1100 off the Cap 1 card.

    :T:T:T:T:T:T

The debt has not reduced but that's a massive chunk off the nasty high rate interest Cap 1. So there's £700 left to pay on it and the challenge is on to get that done before the 1st of September.

Why did I not do this sooner?? :D Who cares, it's done now and that's the main thing. I'll save a tenner off my current £300 overdraft fee every month and also around £25 in interest every month off the Cap 1. So I'll be able to put this cash towards my overpayment. (Which I haven't managed at all this month, I'm hardly able to keep my head above the water, bad planning on my part.)

So, I'm now all inspired again and believing that I may not be as daft as I look. Couldn't possibly be. :D

  • That's such a positive step. It will really speed up the debt clearance.

This is fab news, the debt will go down quickly now you don't have to pay the horrible interest rate. Glad you're feeling more motivated :)

    Happy weekend everyone :)

I just heard from the inland revenue. I am getting back the tax relief on my travel expenses; it's being added to my tax code so no cheque for me but at least I'm getting it. :T Yippee!

I have a really expensive month coming up and am away to make a plan to survive it without hitting the credit cards.

Hope everyone is having a fabulous money saving time of it.

It's pouring with rain, I have no money, I'm trying to figure out how to survive the most expensive month I've had in a while and basically everything is bleh.

    :(

Hope you're all doing better than me today. x

Ok, enough with the self pity. :o

I just posted 2 ads on gumtree. I'm trying to sell an amp and an old cello. Let's hope I get some takers . :)

I'm trying to count my blessing today. I have somewhere nice to live, the bills are all paid, I have food in my cupboard and a warm bed to sleep in. Things could be so much worse. :)

Wonder what else I could do to make June an easier month? Thinking hat is on...

On a completely different note...online dating...oh my giddy aunt. Some of the things people share with complete strangers (me!) is unreal. Have these people no boundaries?? I just had to be really firm with someone who handed out a dreadful life story and a phone number in their 3rd message to me! Whaaa??!

Ahem, back to the money saving...

Thats more like it!:eek:to on line dating. Not something I think I could contemplate and not that I am wanting/need to contemplate it but I did have a friend who got into the on line date thing - we always told her that she had to tell us where she was going text on arrival and when leaving and call when she got back home.............think my circle of friends must be paranoid;)
