My amp is still sitting here and no word from my buyer. Igamogam I think you're right, I need to re-advertise it.

I've been checking my CC accounts and have realised that I have £440 credit between my Virgin and M and S cards. When I add in my emergency fund, this means I have over £500 credit so really, I could get rid of my Cap 1 card and still be ready for a crisis.

Or, maybe I could phone them up and negotiate a greatly reduced interest rate? My other 2 cards are at 19.9% so if I could get them to go lower than that then I could do some juggling and save some pennies on interest. However, I do like the idea of having one less account to check when I'm obsessing over money. I would love to simplify it all.

Hmm...not sure. Common sense still says 'close the account'. Why is the thought of that so scary??

Also just realised my mini target of paying off Cap 1 by September 1st has been smashed by 2 months.

    Yippee!! :j:j:j:j

  • Brilliant going clearing the card. I'd call, say you want to cancel and see if they offer you anything to stay.

    Great advice, INOD. :A

Just called Cap 1 and they tried to sell me a different card with a lower interest rate. It all sounded great until they mentioned the yearly fee...£120. I don't think so. I need to wait for my final payment to appear on the account before I close it (I think) so I'll wait for that to happen then do it.

Just thinking about it is bringing me out in a sweat.

Lol! Aren't they just? I'm kind of glad they didn't persuade me to stay, I'm starting to look forward to telling them to shove off. While I was on the phone they told me I was such a good customer as I had been with them for 7 years. This shocked the life out of me. 7 years of paying their outrageous interest rate, I must be off my head.

Anyway, my boy cat needs a new litter tray and it needs to be a big one due to his size. I saw one yesterday in a pet shop that looked perfect but cost £30. I'm going to try and find it cheaper elsewhere.

Happy debt busting day everyone. :)

I just spent 17 minutes on the phone doing it, most of that on hold, but that 85p will be the last cash I ever spend on those crooks!!

    Woo hoo!!!
