My boss took me out to dinner last night which was just lovely since eating out will not be something I do much on this DFW journey. What a star! :A I had 3 courses and stuffed my face...nom!!

It's Saturday and an excellent time to lie in bed with a large coffee :coffee: and make money saving plans.

I've chased up the letter from Uni and apparently it's been done and is just waiting for a signature before it gets posted out to me. :T I'm a bit anxious about how much overdraft I will get with this new student account. It's supposed to be £3k but might start lower and increase over the years of study, I just don't know. I need to pay off the Cap 1 card, which is now sitting well under £2k thankfully, so with some luck I'll have another £1k to throw at another debt. The other 2 CCs are on the same interest rate so it doesn't matter either way.

I've joined the grocery challenge for April and will see if the £80 in my budget actually works. Somehow I doubt it but I can try.

Ditto minus the coffee!! I just have a large purrball on my feet sleeping off a hard night curled up in front of an Aga! I woke up at my usual crack of sparrow f@rt even though alarm not set at weekends:mad: reached for laptop and checked all things financial before 6.30am! I look forward to the day I no longer need to do this - does seem a long way away sometimes:(

    Good news re bank account!

Well, I just worked out that I will not be paid this Thursday like I thought, it'll be a week on Monday. :( I could've managed 'til Thursday but not next Monday so I had to do some shopping.

Instead of my usual T**co trip, I went to I***land. I didn't expect much as the last time I was there was years ago and it was all processed yucky looking meat products. But oh my word, I got some real bargains, what a brilliant shop! I am now totally inspired to try and make my grocery budget of £80 feed me and the boy cat for a month.

I'm away to meal plan. Happy Sunday everyone. :)

If I master this meal planning business, I will really enjoy not having to duck into a supermarket almost every day to pick up something for my tea. I'm not mad keen on supermarkets, they're depressing. So that's my goal, as well as trying to save cash.

I have a plan now for this week, right up until pay day next Monday. It's stuck up on the pin board in my kitchen. I'm going to make a plan every Saturday and then go out and shop so I'm organised.

It will probably save loads of time too. Brilliant. :)

Have a fabulous day everyone. It's freezing here, where did the spring weather go?? Brrrr...

  • I've read on here that some peeps save their menu plans and recycle them.

Hey, it's going good thanks! :)

My letter finally arrived saying I'm a student. So I need to get an appointment booked with the bank to open a student account. I'm a bit nervous about it; I hate changing bank accounts. I worry about direct debits getting all messed up and my wage going into the wrong account. But I'm going for it anyway.

I'm about to have a very frugal weekend as I have no money and don't get paid 'til Monday. It won't hurt, I have food and a pile of study to do.

Great idea about recycling the menus, I'll definitely use that one.

Hope everyone's having a great moneysaving time. :)
