Doing well with the food spend - £0 so far, and still enough stuff in the fridge, freezer and cupboards to keep me going for a bit.

Household items/toiletries: not so good. I spent (a very sensible) £6.75 on some essentials and then a not so sensible £63.80 stocking up on No7 skin care.... At least it was an online offer and cheap compared to offer prices in store.

So that's over £70 of my £200 budget spent. I'll have to be very, very careful for the rest of the month....

Hopefully just filled in the last of my meal plan for this month (it'd be soooo much easier if I didn't have to work around an easy going OH and a fussy DS1, as I have to check how much of everything I have in and can't do fish - other than tinned tuna - if I'm cooking for DS1), and it looks like this

1st (me) : Venison steak with baby potatoes and veg (eaten as planned)
2nd (me) : Sausages with jacket potatoes and veg (just eaten)
    3rd (me, DS1 & OH) : spaghetti carbonara (q&e make after a day out)
    4th (me & DS1) : chicken enchilladas

5th (me) : venison & cranberry sausages, potatoes & veg
    6th (me) : Qu0rn Lamb Grillsteak, potatoes & veg
7th (me & DS1) : Chilli (in freezer from batch made on 11th April) with rice
    8th (me & DS1) : Baked sausage meat - probably with chips

9th, 10th, 11th : OH and I are away with my 2 youngest GDs. one night will be spag bol and one will be fish in sauce as the elder one loves these (younger one has only just started weaning). not sure what we'll do for the third meal yet - need to discuss with OH this weekend and then run ideas past DD

12th (me & DS1) : mince & baked beans mix (in freezer from 29th April) with pasta
13th (me & DS1) : outdoor bred chipolatas, potatoes and veg
14th (me) : Qu0rn Swedish Meatballs with pasta and sauce
15th (me) : Pasty with potatoes (baby new or chips) and veg
16th (me) : Breaded fish/poultry (freezer bag not marked as to which ;)), potatoes & veg
17th (me, DS & OH) : Pork Steaks, potatoes & veg
18th : youngest GDs christening, so we'll be eating at the buffet

19th (me) : Wild Boar & Apple Sausages, potatoes and veg
20th (me) : Boil in bag fish in butter sauce, rice and veg
21st (me & DS1) : Frying Steak (either made into stroganoff or with chips)
    22nd (me & DS1) : Spag Bol (from freezer - made ?)
23rd (me & DS1) : Tuna Pasta (uses tinned toms and frozen peas & sweetcorn)
24th (me & OH) : Salmon, baby potatoes & veg
25th (me) : Beef Stew (from freezer - made ?)

    26th (me & DS1) : Cottage Pie
27th (me & DS1) : Burgers with veg and chips or jacket or baby new
    28th (me) : trout with ?
29th (me) : Qu0rn Lamb Grillsteak with jacket and veg
30th (me) : Breaded fish/poultry (freezer bag not marked as to which ;)), potatoes & veg
    31st (me, DS1 & OH) : Traditional Pork Sausages, potatoes & veg

will need to buy potatoes and veg, but other than that the only stuff I need to shop for is the fish and the 'yet to decide on' meals for the weekend away with my GDs - everything else is in the house.

This is my meal for tonight (on a 12" plate)

Looks like today will be my third NSD in May (I started the month on Monday the 28th)! :D

Still have only spent £2.85 on food so far this month, but just noticed that the person on the till at Tesco has mistaken a huge salad potato for a baking potato, which cost twice as much per kg. There's only 19p in it, but the thing is that I wanted a baking potato but bought this one because it was so much cheaper. No idea if it will be ok for baking, but as it's just me, it doesn't really matter.

Yesterday would also have been an NSD, but I had to spend £4.50 on new vacuum bags. I am reusing my vacuum bag but don't think it will work one more time, so when I found the correct ones on eBay (good price and free p&p), I felt I ought to buy them.

Think I've got everything I need for the weekend, so will try not to do any more grocery shopping until Monday. Also realised today that I could get 25p cashback on last Monday's shop from Smart Cashback, so that's another few pennies saved! I'm starting to get good at this! :)

Blimey, up to page 14 already!

Kicking off with a small spend in Lidl today £5.55 tomatoes, peppers, butternut squash, red onions and aubergines - so much cheaper than elsewhere - I feel a large veggie curry coming on over the weekend.

Only the 2nd day of the month and I have lost the plot already. Prior to this month I was using 2 purses, 1 for housekeeping and the other for personal spends. This month I bunged all the money in the same purse and now I am not sure I can seperate the two. Will have a trawl through the receipts and update siggy later if successful. :o

I also forgot to mention the huge tub of coleslaw and 2 oranges from bf. just had a lovely dinner of cold chicken, spud, coleslaw, salad and cheese. Nom nom.

    Tomorrow's plan:
    B porridge or cereal
    L sandwiches/toasties
    D pub

Plan changed within last half hour, but better really as the ch never eat as much for lunch at a pub, compared to dinner time.

Children are away for Sunday lunch as it's their gran's birthday, so cheap day for food hopefully.

£5.21 spent at c00p and ffoods this evening.

Also had a box of porridge sachets delivered today in the post for a survey trial, so that's 5 days worth of breakfasts for free! :D
Hi - I've got some of those to try as well. I assume they're the fruit ones :)

Another NSD - good start for the month eh ;) but have to go shopping over the weekend

Had salmon fishcakes, chips and peas for tea today and think I'll do leeks (lurking in fridge) and ham (freezer) in a hm cheese sauce with a sweet potato bake from Cranks recipe book as I have all ingredients in for tomorrow :D

Have decided that £100 is enough to leave in bulk buy account and started a new savings account so added lo monies to this on my siggy. Will see how things go and hopefully reduce my monthly target after this month. I still seem to have a fair bit in stock at the moment :T

Hope you all have a super Saturday
