Hi - I've got some of those to try as well. I assume they're the fruit ones :)

Yep! :D Tried my first one today, and so far, they are pretty good. I have a barley sensitivity, so we will see how it goes though. Still, 6 packs of oatmeal/porridge for free is still a pretty good deal!

Last night boss gave me a box of mangoes, box of strawberries and some lime pickle (?!)

Going to chop and freeze mangoes for smoothies (don't think we're quite there yet!)

Mmmmmm, mangoes. I was looking at the price of mangoes (whole fresh and diced frozen) and they are expensive! I'll probably go with the frozen stuff once my blender arrives. Sometimes it's worth it to me to pay a tiny bit more to not need to throw out the pit and peel!

Since I've ordered the blender and I now have a juicer, I definitely need to start using things out of the freezer, otherwise I won't have room for more than 1-2 days worth of fruit for smoothies! I'm going to try to use smoothies as a 'meal replacement' for breakfast and lunch. Shouldn't be too bad due to how much I love smoothies. Bought some chia seed yesterday (different budget) and I'm looking forward to trying them. Hopefully with it being spring and into summer I'll be able to find more ys fruit and smoothie worthy veg and greens in stores.

Had a bit of a whoops yesterday while waiting for DH to get out of work. When I'm in the store and it's dinner time, I'll typically get some cashews to snack on while I'm waiting. The store I was in last night was out of cashews, so I bought some peanuts instead. Turns out I have somehow developed a peanut sensitivity/allergy in the past 4 months. One more food on my 'do not eat' list. :(

I think I've set myself an unrealistic target. I've done an 'imaginary' shop on Mysup@rmark@t and I will likely come out at £220 rather than the £200 I set :o.

I'm therefore asking to review and amend my budget to a more realistic £220 for the two of us, cat, dog and all household and personal effects.

This figure is far, far less than the £450+ we were spending willy-nilly over any given month in the past. :T

Hi, I am new to this thread, so be patient with me ;)

I've done a rough calculation on April's food bills and have set the May target to under £ 250 for our family of 4. One month can include lots of smaller shops at Lidl/Aldi/ T/Ms and B&M and one on-line shop for the weird and wonderful at Approved Foods or Greencity wholefoods bulk order. Do people normally count luxuries like wine and pet food in?

Will now add up and update my signature :T

  • Hi - just reporting small spend in Mr M - £3.67. Just went in for mushrooms and came out with frozen petit pois, stawberries and a pack of punch pockets too!!!!

Sig will be updated in a mo. Keep up the good work everyone.

Happygreen = welcome - we count wine in our budget but others decide not to - entirely up to you.

Good evening im a little late starting this month I am setting a budget of £200 for MAY and have spent up to now over the last few days £34.98 which was at M&S and morrisons and asda. Freezers are fully stocked cupboards are full and hopefully will only need fresh and basics over next week. Thanks to board admin and good luck everyone for good budgeting this month x
