    After 2 NSD's I popped into Ald'i and spent £17.15. :o

    * 3 x bottles of plonk @ £3 each,
    * YS thick sliced corned beef (6 slices) £1.57 which I've portioned and put in the freezer,
    * YS Polish ham YS'd to £53p,
    * YS sugar snap peas 0.72p,
    * YS Red Star small plum tomatoes (20 in the pack) £1.10,
    * Sava kidney beans £0.23p,
    * Roll Back price soy sauce £1,
    * OH's P@t N@@dles 4 for £3

    OH tried the sava ones and added soy sauce to taste, I hadn't realised he was happy with that so bought the branded ones instead. At £0.35p per pot for the Sava's that's quite a saving I missed :mad:. Don't know whether to be uber tight and return the branded noodles or let him have them.

    I must resist the YS's

  • Just reporting an early but first week's spend off May budget - am out all day tomorrow which would be my usual payday shop.

    Have done Mr Al*i, Home Bags and Mr M - for bits I couldn't get - total spend £44.48. The fridge is absolutely groaning and I have already got the main meal ingredients for 11 meals.

    Hoping that after this week we'll still have quite a lot left so shop will be smaller next week. Couldn't resist the Mr M Muller light offer.

    Have a good montheveryone. Hoping for several NSDs now as wouldn't know where to put it!
    Chi-me - whereabouts are ALd'i YS items kept - never seen them in our store?
    July 16 £95/£200
    Nov 16 £0/£200

    Hi Hun,
    Ours has them at the end of aisles, cold items (by the ready meals, cold meats), meat aisle (at the end again or one aisle over) and the fruit and veg is at the end opposite tomatoes in our store. Each internal department seems to have its own YS area. Good luck :D

    I'd like to join for May. My month started yesterday and I'm are hoping to stick to £160 for the month, despite it working out as 5 weeks.

    I'd planned that we would stock up on some bits from April's budget, but that didn't happen due to us spending most of April living from a hospital. May will therefore likely be a big overspend.
    GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
    Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."

    Hello everyone!

    I am brand new to this forum, but have spent almost a year perfecting a food budget/meal plan for myself and have managed to get it down to under £10 per week (I know it can be done even cheaper, but I am vegetarian and eat organic whenever I can). I still haven't managed to stick to my budget for a whole week, but that is another matter! ;)

    I am counting May as 5 weeks, so put me down for £50, please. I think it will be easier to stick to when I have officially committed to a challenge. Also, I was recently given a £25 voucher for John Lewis/Waitrose for my birthday, which I combined with Waitrose's £10 off a £50 shop offer, so I am all stocked up on dry goods at the moment! I am really looking forward to this challenge - now I just need to figure out how to set up my signature! :D

    I have just spent what seemed like hours doing a Mr S on-line shop which came to £102. By the time I got to the checkout (about 10 mins) a lot of the things had been taken off offer and were back to full price. When I deleted them from my order it went down to £59 there were so many of them. I cancelled the lot and will go to Lid1s on Thursday so nothing spent from May's budget as yet. Not a happy bunny though. :mad:

    If you can wait until Friday to go Lidl, there is a Print off £5 off a £35 spend on the Lidl Facebook page - it's only valid from Friday until Tuesday though.

    pennygrabber I love having things like porridge for tea!! I haven't eaten yet so might do

    Have you tried the Great White loaf from Kingsmill? It has the same fibre as wholemeal but looks feels and tastes just the same as white. Dd doesn't know the difference as it is nice and soft too.

    Got paid today but trying to hold out till Friday to use Lidl voucher. Spent £3.77 in Mr T on absolute rubbish which I came home and ate because I was really fed up! I bought Revels, eclairs and Doritos and ate about half of everything:o have hidden rest! Didn't want any lunch and still haven't had any tea as I'm not that hungry.

    Justthetwoofus - my Aldi reduces stuff first thing of a morning with 30 or 50% off stickers. They just leave the stuff in the normal place.

    Have a good evening everyone!

    !

    L1dl is several miles away and I can only get a lift there on Thursday so I can't take advantage of that voucher but thanks anyway. Popped into Mr S today while I was in town and got the half price beef joint that on line they told me was no longer on offer. Also got one or two other things that I can't get from L1dl so £21.26 spent but its all for May despite it still being April.
    Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot. :think:
