Do you need £60 of stuff from there or would you be spending for spendings sake?
    I don't need £60 worth now but I can't really refuse such a big discount :o

    1. Do you have £60 that you can afford to splurge in one go? I physically have the money but it is a lot to pull out of one months budget
    2. Do you have room to store £60 of groceries? (be that freezer or cupboards or a mix of the two) I have a spare freezer I can put on but then I have to factor in the extra running costs, saying that I am planning on putting that on for Saturday anyway as L*dl are putting mince to 99p as a weekend special
    3. Would you be spending it on stuff you always buy from there, or on stuff you'd normally buy cheaper elsewhere? (if the latter it would negate some of your saving) That is what I need to work out really, I always buy the cooking bacon, normally 2-3pks a month and I always buy there mushrooms as I find them really cheap and good quality, the loose ones. I'm thinking that the mozzarella and frozen chicken breasts are the same price as A*di
    4. Would you remember you have it in the house, or would it sit around for months on end? (I'm a swine for stocking up on offers and then forgetting I've got it, so either buying more of the same or just not working it into my meal plans)I can't afford not to, I keep a rolling list of what I in :o

I've actually stopped using most of this kind of till spit or in the post voucher I get from Mr T. £5 off £60 is no longer worth doing, but the £6 off £40 they gave me a couple of months ago was - but I still only just managed to get there by stocking up on enough long-life milk to last me until the end of the year.... and now they keep sending me vouchers for extra points if I buy more of it
Most don't normally tempt me but this one is

Hi, could you tell me how you prepare the potatoes for freezing - would love to do this as I spend ages preparing fresh most nights - thankyou
HELLO, all I do is peel a large bag of spuds if I get them on offer boil and mash as usual then I get an icecream scoop and scoop into sandwich bags the amount the 3 of us eat at a sitting say 3 for oh 2 for me 1 for the manchild aged 10 sometimes he takes mine, anyway let them go cold and pop in freezer. so that's the mash done, then I just get the spuds and cut into wedges put in a bowl with paprika, salt and pepper and some olive oil toss wedges about and same again put appropriate amounts into freezer bags and freeze I found NOT to defrost the wedges but cook from frozen so they don't go yuck! chips are the same just peel spud ,cut to chips I spritz with oil and freeze in bags, also if your feeling up to it make potato bread over here we eat a lot of it, just mix some flour with the mashed spuds make into a flatish pancake size and shallow fry both sides till golden. hth.

So, I've spent a whopping £93  all ready this month and it's only the 1st week. But I do have nappies and wipes for the month, 2 weeks worth of meat and all of the stuff to make the 2 birthday cakes on Friday plus feed 16 adults and 6 children over the weekend with "party food", so not feeling to bad about it. Just have to be careful the rest of the month. x

    Evening all,

First time doing this challenge, so breaking myself in slowly.
I am going to over budget at £250 this month. Just me,DD and 1 cat but this will cover the cost of everything (food, pet food and household/cleaning bits) plus I do have quite a bit stored away.
My month starts on Friday. Will draw out this amount and keep it safe, that way I won't be sticking bits n bobs on my plastic friend! Will keep all my receipts and see what our spend is,that way I will have a much better idea for next month and hopefully I can take this amount right down without feeling stretched and worried about where to find the extra money.

    Have good evenings xx
