Wow, what discipline! Mines always full (plus I often travel for work and all in all am probably out of the country for 3 months a year ) I might try to do that before our holiday in June though. :j
I'm a "just in time" shopper rather than a stock hoarder. We usually have some pretty strange meals in the last few days before our holiday. I'll post some of my odd menus next week. I find it good discipline to do this as it means the fridge/freezer gets a really good clean out and we don't come home to gone off food.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

Oh dear I seem to have spent a third of my £100 budget in one go. This did include a GF and DF recipe magazine and AGCJ book as well as nappies, wine and beer:o
Not much actually spent on food but since the book/mag are to improve our diet/eat cheaper meals I though this budget was the best place for them.
We are at the cinema watching a live streaming of Shakespeare tonight so it will be a quick pasta bake to eat when DH gets in. I am going to attempt to make my own salty popcorn to take and have a bottle of water to take too.
We are sticking to the meal plan and I have made a packed lunch for DH every day this week. It is so much easier when I am at home and not working silly hours to plan and cook.
Total £100/£29.69Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
After being WAY over budget last month and to be honest that feeling of pretty much giving up towards the end of the month, I am determined to be more frugal and go back to meal planning. There are so many more things that we want to save more and the only way to do it is but cutting back on things we could live without. So far this month I have spent £51 out of £160.Grocery challenge May £167/£160, June £38.88/£1600

Hi Soworried, you can do what I did with a similar offer from Waitrose (£10 off £50 spend) and stock up on long-life foods. That way it won't go off but will keep your future grocery costs down as you will have plenty in the house. I stocked up on rice, red lentils, quinoa, porridge oats, olive oil, frozen bean burgers and some calming bedtime biscuits for my dog. What I have now should last me months! (I also got a £25 John Lewis/Waitrose voucher for my birthday which I used after the £10 deduction, so in total I spent £23 for a £58 spend!)June 2014 Grocery Challenge: £0/£50
