hi all, my budget for this month is the grand sum of £30. I have a freezer full of food and my store cupboard staples so I am refusing to spend anything on food unless I really need to!

    Wish me luck!

    Need a bit if help...
I got YS fillet steak for 2 on Monday and it's been in the freezer and it's thawing in the fridge for dinner tonight.
Any ideas what to do with it or serve it with? It's for 2 adults and a 3 year old but he doesn't eat a lot so usually has some of my portion (helps with my diet!)
Don't really want to do just do steak and chips as we had gammon and HM chips Tuesday :)
    Thanks x

Hi everyone. This is the first time I am doing this challenge (or any challenge on MSE for that matter). I live on my own and my downfalls in terms of groceries are

    - buying lunches at work (at approx. £5 each)
    - buying too much food (BOGOFs etc) and then having to throw some in the bin
    - not doing any meal planning/stock taking, thus sometimes buying things I already have/don't need.

I don't really know how much I spend on groceries and how much is realistic for me but I'll aim for no more than £200 (including toiletries/cleaning products) for the month of May.

    Welcome SternMusik :hello:

Trying to coach myself before I hit town. Just baking soda and Guinness for a cake. I want to stay under a tenner for this week, use up lots of stuff and then if the weather improves there will be plenty for a BBQ :j

Snap I took a YS steak out of the freezer this morning and am going to have with with a big baked potato and salad. I did consider slicing it up and have stirfry but don't have enough stirfry veg left.

Depends on what else you have in but if you have wraps, you could slice it and serve it with those and a salad....or do a stirfry with noodles, or serve it with rice and some type of sauce....

Just a fairly small spend of £12.40 today which is just as well after the mammoth stock up I had on Tuesday on return from holiday!

    Total so far is £82.06/£250.
