Doing pretty well with NSDs this month!
I'll probably have a look for YS in coop tomorrow and then meal plan.
Tonight is, blackened salmon with potato salad and steamed broccoli for me hubby and DS.
Some boiled potato and broccoli for 6 month DDI'm C, Mummy to DS 29/11/2010 and DD 02/11/2013
Overdraft PAID OFF
CC PAID OFFGC Sept £141.17/2000 -
Spent £37 on weekly shop. Included in this was Aldi Super Six garlic roast chicken £3.99, beef stir-fry £2.99 and 2 x duck in sweet chilli sauce at £2.99. At Sains this included YS Heinz tomato soup 35p, HP YS tins of beans at 40p and meringue nests on offer. Bought Aldi reduced fat houmous at 65p (£1.20 in Sains) 1kg potatoes 69p in Sains. Two YS pork leg steaks and 12 YS beef meatballs have gone straight in the freezer, bought at local Spar, spotted while waiting in post office queue, both half price at £1.25.
So that's my meal plan revamped and if I can limit grocery spends to £13 for the rest of this week, I will feel more pleased with myself in terms of how much I have spent so far this year.
Have a lovely weekend all xx0 -

I will go hunting and see if I can figure out what I've spent.

Just added a few spends from Thursday and Friday to my total. Biggest single item spend was oil for my deep fat fryer on Thursday - not used it in 10 years at best guess, so needed new oil. Splurged on rapeseed oil (cr!sp & dry) rather than the cheap veg/sunflower I've used in the past, so that was £6 gone
Still well under budget for the month though, and am pretty confident I'll come in under my unofficial (self monitored) budget of two-thirds my official budget.
Meal plan for the last few days of the month looks like
Today (me & OH) : River Cobbler (from freezer - whoopsie buy from start of month) with parsley sauce (old Whoopsie dug out of freezer) and baby pototatoes, cauli. broccoli, chantenay carrots (bought when on super 6 and frozen), green beans, baby sweetcorn and asparagus (all veg from A1di)
Sunday (me & OH) : chicken and ham risotto made using cooked chicken and gammon left overs from freezer, frozen peas and sweetcorn (already in house), mushrooms (left from an A1di purchase earlier this month, sliced and frozen) and risotto rice I've had in for a while
Monday (me & DS1) : Lamb leg steaks (from freezer) with potatoes (probably jacket) and veg (yet to decide which)
Tuesday (me & DS1) : Mince and pasta (mince in freezer, pasta in house) which also uses onion (already in house) and baked beans (ditto) plus sneaky red lentils and porridge oats (in house, but the less DS1 knows about it the better :rotfl:). I also sometimes add a tin of chopped tomatoes (I've plenty of those in the house) but I may use an el-cheapo pasta sauce I've found hidden away while doing some sorting this week. May also treat DS1 by topping with grated cheddar (from freezer)
Wednesday (me only) : Pie (in freezer, not sure what the filling is!), probably with the last of the oven chips in the freezer. Also veg (probably from freezer - I've got chantenay carrots, green beans, baby sweetcorn, cauli and sprouts from A1di that I blanched and froze, plus frozen peas and sweetcorn)
So I really shouldn't need to buy anything else to use this month other than milk for DS1 and possibly another loaf of bread (which I should really make instead of buy if I do end up needing).
But I may head out to Costc0 as I could use from more brown (granary type) baguettes. I generally have one a day for lunch, and I've only 4 left with 2 earmarked for tomorrow (with soup for myself and OH). I also need some fresh meat from there, but there's nothing on offer (again - this is the second offer period with nothing), so I'll try and hold off a bit longer (I've already meal planned almost the entire 3 weeks until the next offer book with what I've got, so that also gives me more time to make enough space in the freezers for it)

Spends today of £7.25 in Morrys and £16.08 in A1di taking me up to £100.55 in total. Brought some potatoes in A1di and so far not impressed with them as they have a lot of black bits through them.
For lunch we had some sliced turkey with a large salad which was nice and tonight its fish pie with some broccoli and roasted tomatoes and then some fruit.
May get some yogurts tomorrow while they on offer.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
Billie-jo, if you are not satisfied with anything you have bought from Aldi, you can take it back and you will have no problem getting a refund, it's their policy, no questions asked.Debt free from April 2012:T:T:T:T:j:j:j:j0 -

Hehe thanks Lynne do you know I have referred five people and you're the only one who has actually done itI know the fee is minuscule for the shop ones but I do think of it as money off my shopping! Have had some lovely meals and the odd not so nice ones and again I think of this as how it's keeping my bills down. I've added a couple more MS companies now which pay a bit better, I must admit I enjoy it. Don't know about Tesco veg, sorry xx
