I have planned what I need for two weeks, going to just get the heavy, frozen, tins, long life items delivered, I like the idea of keeping a spreadsheet for store cupboard items.

Milk and bread I will buy weekly along with fruit (aldi), veg except potatoes (aldi) and meat. I don't fancy anyone else picking my meat as I am a bit fussy with chops etc I always look at each packet to get the best cuts :o

Going to get a £1 midweek delivery its not worth getting in the car for that! I think this will work as what I am buying I can walk to the shop for, I don't think I could do all my shopping online though I would miss the YS bargains too much :rotfl:

Spends today of £7.25 in Morrys and £16.08 in A1di taking me up to £100.55 in total. Brought some potatoes in A1di and so far not impressed with them as they have a lot of black bits through them.

For lunch we had some sliced turkey with a large salad which was nice and tonight its fish pie with some broccoli and roasted tomatoes and then some fruit.
May get some yogurts tomorrow while they on offer.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.
    MARCH £62.38/250
  • 83p to add and that should be me done for the month! Going to stay with the parents on Sunday for a bit so shouldn't be any more to spend til May :) Used £7.50 of nectar points today, needed dinner for tonight & stuff for tomorrow - making pizza with leftover square wrap things, was going to buy a frozen pizza and then remembered about the wraps, got a little ball of mozzarella and a pepper to put on top with some LO chicken, made two so will have the other tomorrow. YS croissants for weekend breakfasts, YS mini cheesecake & cider for tonight, and a can of coke and an iced coffee for the trains this weekend. So mostly little treats that won't survive long at all, but least it wasnt my money!

Good morning all, I'm going to be doing 2 mystery shop assignments at 2 local branches of Super Six stocking supermarkets today, with a combined massive payment of £8 and this will cover fruit and veg as much as I can. I will also go to Sains and get stuff for school lunches. I'm teetering right on nearly £800 for the year so far so today's shop will put me past where I would like to be really but there's plenty of time to work on reining it back over the coming months. I have £15 of luncheon vouchers from Pinecone but have always put off using them at Sains, today could be the day :)

I will meal plan for the week before I go to keep spends realistic, I won't say to a minimum as I'm not cutting back to a really basic level, and since a disgusting piece of journalism attacking food banks last week, I'm donating one nice item a week.

Ok so need to add pizza hut to total (cant remember exact figures will have to check CC statement.) also ordered sainsbobs and taking kids out today (last day out before return to school) so i will probably be over my budget by £100 not bad really to say DS been off school for last 2 weeks.
and without this challenge i would have doubled my budget. so even though I am going over (all the time lol) im still saving!! really gunna try for May. will update after today and sains.
got free buss pass to take kids out today though, my OH got a few days off work and we can use his weekly bus pass!

Good morning everyone, and happy Saturday!

I'm off to spend my birthday money today. I booked myself onto two craft classes, so should be a nsd as I'll be far too busy!

Ended up feeding bf last night. We had a really (for me) expensive dinner. Enchiladas along with nachos and sauces. I reckon the dinner was over £5! I never spend that much on a dinner!!

I'll be eating much more cheaply for a while to average that out...

I've lost track of how much I've spent, although I know I've gone over :@. I'll start again for May, but neeeeed to be much more careful. I have made a list for May, of meals I can make from what's in, and another list of what I think I need to buy for the month. Hopefully it will be under £100, but I'll make my budget £120, to a) have a contingency, and b) to make up for going over this month. Hopefully, the two months will even themselves out.

Have a gd day everyone! I'm feeding bf again tonight, but not sure what yet. Maybe soup!!!

Is anyone a vegetarian? I have phases but always give up because all I seem to eat is cheese!

I'm veggie and mostly do vegan at home, which stops the too much cheese issue ;) takes a bit of getting used to, but would recommend it. Friend cooked last night and did red lentil pasta - delicious and shouted healthiness so had a big slab of vegan banana bread too ;)
