  • Thanks for the reminder on the a*di voucher - I better not forget!

Had my angiogram today and the cardiologist said my arteries were "pristine" - amazing given that I'm fat and don't always eat the healthiest stuff:o still need my valve repairing but hopefully not for a while!

DD made quesadillas for tea which were nice - had them with salad. Have got no money until Friday so will have to eat out of the cupboards until then. DDs think this is a disaster but we do have lots of stuff in.
Have just made some muesli with oats, yoghurt, a grated apple and some dried fruit. Bet I'm the only one who likes it though!

Is anyone a vegetarian? I have phases but always give up because all I seem to eat is cheese!

Morning - Help please - is anyone on here doing SW as well as grocery challenge please?
If anyone has any advice /suggestions they'd be most welcome. Thanks.
Don't know much about SW but eating more fruit and veg good anyway. Have you tried looking at mysupermarket for price comparisons and trying a veggie recipe site on tinternet. Soups are good for upping veg at a low cost as can use up YS and 'tired' ends.
Hello all, I have completely lost track this month with birthdays, easter, a break away and starting slimming world. My tally on the fridge says £357 but I am sure this is not correct as I have bought losts of extra's for presents etc which would not come out of budget and I think I have done some extra small shops not accounted for.
I get round this by making sure every receipt goes into my pocket and then onto a large clip in kitchen drawer. Then every week you can do a quick check you have included everything.

That's good news on the angio thingy :T On the veggie front I was for about 6 years but got fed up cooking separate stuff all the time for DH and missed fish and chicken. Now try to do a couple of times a week but still eat loads of veg and fruit. I think if fruit was cheaper I would become almost a fruitarian or whatever the term is - just love fruit.

Managed another NSD and had some of the YS King Ted pots as creamy mash with corned beef and a huge salad for dinner.

Hope you all have a thrifty Thursday

Declaring today, DH was paid yesterday and is transferring grocery money this morning, so that means May's budget starts today!

Spent £160.27 this month out of the budget, so only 27p over. :)

Ended up finding £6 on the path (£5 note yesterday!) and used £2.50 in nectar points and £7.28 on a gift card this month.

  • Happy Birthday Kayester - hope you have a brilliant day. Wish I was 25 again!!

Am just going round to get the Daily Mirror, but on another thread they are saying that it is a Lidl voucher not Aldi - anyone know?

Just had my hm muesli and it was delicious and really filling - Will definitely make it again, although I made loads too much so hope what is left will keep until tomorrow.

    Have a great Thursday everyone!

Double checked payday and it isn't the 4th as I thought, but the 9th :(; so I am never going to make it. I thought I could last after today with one more shop, but it doesn't seem likely now. I wish I'd have realised it was a five week GC for me. The next one is only four weeks, thankfully!!

    2 NSDs to report.
Not much going on here, though started baby led weaning with the small one so buying lots of good quality fruit and veg and I'll probably be hunting for YS free range/organic meat too. She will just eat mostly what we eat.
It's so fun seeing her chomp on toast and avocado etc. at just shy of 6 months.
Luckily I've got £20 a month to add to my GC if I need to.
Hope everyone's managing ok this last week x

  • Thanks LynnJK - yes thanks - have used Mysupermarket today to find cheapest mull lights. Also found a recipe which sounds as though it may have the desired effect " dynorod soup"!!!!!:rotfl:

There may be a few tired ends to use in a week as fridge is so full some might go wrinkly before we get round to eating it!

Just got to work out final spends and update budget for April - will update sig later.

See you all on May thread and keep up the good work.

Am just going round to get the Daily Mirror, but on another thread they are saying that it is a Lidl voucher not Aldi - anyone know?

I bought it earlier and it's a £5 off ***£45*** spend Aldi voucher along with coupons for "Benefit" cereal, gourmet crackers, sugar free sweets, Compli-mints, flavoured soft cheese, brie and a couple of others that I can't remember - I can get the paper from my car if anyone wants to know the full list.

Annoying that it's gone up to £45 spend :( I struggled to spend £40 usually, even with lots of store cupboard stuff.
