My month ends today and I am declaring well over budget :( I wouldn't mind if I had loads left in but I don't

I am setting my next 4 week budget at £260 to try to re stock a little bit on store cupboard basics.
I'll just keep posting on here until the new thread is up, good luck everyone x :A

I forgot I needed to do a Tesco order, so as to qualify for the £5off voucher; so done YET ANOTHER shop came to £41.00 odd... Gah. If they issue another spend £20 to qualify for a fiver off again, I won't be participating as I've now got £60 to last til the 4/5. Need to set this aside for necessities. Do need handsoap today, but that's it I think. Totally forgot to add that to the order coming today!!!!

    That's not so good kayster!
We had a day out yesterday and tried to be good by taking a packed lunch. However we still bought ice cream and doughnuts. Don't think il include this in the budget as DH paid and don't think he will have a clue what he paid. Will just include it in our day out expense.

I almost completely gave up on them early last year. Since I started getting almost 100% of my meat from Cost0 in October 2012 it's nigh on impossible for me to spend as much as £20 in a single trip to the supermarket (unless I pay higher than A1di prices for my veg, which negates any saving) even if I only go once a month. A couple of times a year I might consider using a £x off £xx spend voucher they send me in the post or give me as a till spit because I've not been in for so long (used one of the latter last month), but I only manage those by stocking up on 6 months worth of dried pasta and/or long-life soya milk !!!

And I've never saved receipts for a M0rrisons deal, even though I have a store within a 10 minute walk of home (and even worked there for 2 years!)

I always watch with interest when people on here talk about the A1di voucher in the paper. First off I'd have to offset the cost of the paper (I never, ever buy one anymore - although I used to if they were giving away decent CDs or DVDs via Mr T as I can walk there on a daily basis, but even then I never read it), but unless there's something really good in their special deals I never spend more than £10 in a single visit there either, and it's normally under £5 as I walk down for fresh milk and veg as and when I need it.

These things really aren't designed for a household of 1 or 2 :(

At times I almost wish I had a big family again, so that I could make the most of all these coupons.... but then I remember what they cost me overall and decide I'm quite happy to miss out on the coupons :rotfl:

I don't blame you for being mad, what a rotten thing to do to anyone. Chin up love, hoping something really good comes up for you.

    Morning!!

    So, from Tesco last night:

    Food: £ 21.71
    Cat food: £ 6.00* that became £4.62
    Household: £1.00

    Total: £ 27.33

    * Thanks to mysupermarket I knew my final cost shouldn't have been over £30 , but it was. So I stopped on a side and checked the receipt. They didnt process my cat food as 2x6. With no fuss they refunded me double the actual difference because they labelled the prices wrongly and one of my 2 boxes wasn't meant to be on offer..

This procedure is probably very old news, but I did not know that!:o

Also, 2 weekends ago again in Tesco, 2 whole chickens for £8 was wrong, but they didnt do the "double the difference" thing. Maybe because we called assistance at the self check-out before we processed the payment?
Anyway, totals are wrong so often (with Co-op too)!! I regret all those years spent not checking my receipts!!! :wall::smiley:

Plan for the next 4 days:

Tonight: chicken and leek pie (hm out of freezer) with steamed veg
Friday: Chilli con carne on basmati rice
Saturday: Chorizo chicken with chilli wedges + green beans
    Sunday: Easter at MIL's

    Speak later!!!

Have not spent anything for the last 7 days mainly due to DH being in hospital so I have been using things up before they go off and also some bits from the freezers.
Tonight I am having some left over beef made into a stir fry using up the last of the mushrooms and pak choi. Think I will need some shopping tomorrow though and have noticed fresh salmon half price in Morrys so may take a look, also pork and leg of lamb looks a good offer.

This week is going well for me, only spent around £2.20 so far, on 2 higgidy quiches (Normally 4.17 each but had the 3.75 vouchers they were giving away) and some eggs from aldi for £1.35. Yes I know they are the cheapest ones and welfare etc... but as a student trying to save for a grad job I am being selfish. Did go to the free range eggs for a while for around £2.20, so affordable, but didn't notice a difference and felt I was doing it for the sake of it!

    Tuesday - NSD
Wednesday - NSD (Spent 8 pound justeat credit on a takeaway so there goes any weight loss for the start of this week, but the credit was from a comp win)
Thursday - Hopefully NSD as I am planning to go shopping tomorrow!
