Abbey/Santander application - Delay

Yep and not monday text week. Oh the joys!

I'm starting to think I am in the same position as you guys with the broker not uploading documents.

Santander requested further info on the 8th and this was provided to the broker who promised us these documents were uploaded to the MATS system on the 9th and we should hear Monday this week. Just been told that our extra documents have only gone to underwriters today so we won't hear till end of next week at the earliest. That will be 4 weeks from original application.

On top of that the estate agents are telling us the buyers are threatening to pull out if nothing happens shortly! Not a happy bunny with any of this at the moment

Welcome to my world. except double the time you've been waiting and that's me. I gave my broker everything 2 months ago! they asked about some payments on my bank statements 2 weeks back, then last week about my partners and now we are waiting again!

I can't tell who is being a nuisance, Santander or broker being lackadaisical.

Its all rather frustrating. I have no doubt Santander will request further info after this because they queried my bank statements and not my partners at all . . . Oh joy that could be another weeks wait at least and as were approaching the May bank holidays which will no doubt slow things further! The worst is our rental is finished on 17th May and we now have to move back home which is over 2 hours from work

Yeah my broker said there is nothing else outstanding now after they wanted an explanation of a charge on her statements. I am basically going to wait til we hear back from them and if they require something else or ask another question I will then leave and find another provider. It is becoming a joke now!

I don't blame you! We had a choice in the beginning to either use Santander or Halifax. Wish we had gone with Halifax now! But then we weren't aware of the backlog which appears to be with Santander...benefit of hindsight I suppose!

I feel your pain maybe we are the same broker?!

I had same choice - am also feeling the same!
But had problems with Halifax on a previous property too.
Part of me is contemplating pulling my Santander app and going with Halifax who already have all my info and have accepted me before. But then I'd have wasted a month of mine and the vendors time on what should have been a straight forward chain?

Yep wish I went with another bank too!

I think this question might have already been asked before - but - is there anyway of keeping the same application going but going direct to Santander rather then continuing with the broker? Or would it be a new application?

I would be wary of starting over again now as you would be subject to all the new MMR stuff.

I recommend you all get the case numbers for the MATS system and check progress yourself. If nothing else it will satisfy you to see when documents were actually sent. In my case they hadn't after 2 weeks of waiting so glad I insisted and looked myself!
