Abbey/Santander application - Delay

I would be wary of starting over again now as you would be subject to all the new MMR stuff.
I recommend you all get the case numbers for the MATS system and check progress yourself. If nothing else it will satisfy you to see when documents were actually sent. In my case they hadn't after 2 weeks of waiting so glad I insisted and looked myself!
Did you ask your broker for your MATS system code?
I currently don't have it.0 -

I have been on MATS pretty much every hour - if not more frequently!
Thats how I found out my docs hadnt actually been submitted.Did you ask your broker for your MATS system code? I currently don't have it.
I found it in the copy of the submitted application that the broker should supply you with. It was in the page with the direct debit info?0 -

My MA said there was a 9-10 day delay on applications. We submitted extra info (which the broker should have included in the first place -grrrr!) on 3rd of April and got our approval pending valuation yesterday - 15th. So things are slow, but moving.
The valuation is booked for next Tuesday thanks to the Easter bank holiday. Double Grrrr0 -

I am very cynical but I just now doubtful of most "small talk" my MA says. For example "Santander currently has a backlog of X days"..
Really I think this is utter rubbish. I don't think they actually interact with anything other than that MATS system, I don't think they have this level of knowledge. I notice they can check currents SLA's but I don't see how they have anything to measure it against.
I'm really peeved because from the MATS audit trail I can now see my application was only submitted yesterday! Not a week ago like my MA stated.0 -
Hi Stilljamesh. Have you checked the dates on the santander for intermediaries site? If you click on 'our service' it tells you which date for applications they are working on. I know for a fact that my application went in last Tuesday but it wasn't loaded on to the MATS system until yesterday. According to the information on their website it is correct due to the number of days it's currently taking to set up the applications. My MA needed to send over to additional pieces of information which means that I won't go in to the underwriter queue until tomorrow at the earliest. According to their stats it won't be looked at by an underwriter until next Friday at the earliest but at least I know. It will take as long as it takes...0

Hi All,
Thought I would post my experience with Santander so far.
28/03 Viewed property and placed offer.
31/03 Offer accepted.
03/04 Mortgage agreed in principle with Santander via MA
03/04 Full application made all documents sent via MA
03/04 Documents with assessment team.
15/04 Documents gone to underwriters.
Santander seem a bit slow in my opinion, I currently had been accepted with Woolwich on another property which I was due to purchase however fall through due to seller and I must say they were very quick with mortgage offer, however Santander offered better rate so I have gone with them.
I have been advised that Santander have an assessment team who assess all documents before it is given to the underwriters and this where the delays lay.
Hopefully I hear soon.0
