Is it me just being a cheap skate or is the fabric on Ebay getting so expensive its not worth the bother to even look.
I used to get real bargains and never minded paying for postage but the prices seemed to have been hiked up over recent months.

I am now following this thread as I am hoping to start sewing. I retired from work recently and am currently getting the house more organised (I use this term loosely) and then hoping to spend more time on my crochet and sewing.

I have been gathering patterns, mostly from monthly magazines and have quite a stash, but making that first item ... well its a bit daunting really but I will get there (I hope):)

Please could you add me to the list of knicker makers please? At present I only have enough space for cutting out knickers even though they will need to be on the LARGE size!
    Many thanks

    Hi everyone.
Sorry work was a bit hectic so I didn't get a chance to sort out the pattern and instructions.
Hopefully I will manage it tomorrow.

I think the next time I teach a class I better start to video it!

To start sewing trousers etc a heavier weight fabric is better. Try denim, cotton drill, suit weight polyesters, flannels, that sort of thing.

I use https://www.croftmills.co.uk as well as eBay.
I ofcourse recycle loads so I buy duvets and curtains if I like the fabric.

When learning to sew you can get a lot of free tutorials, you tube is good. Buying on line classes from Craftsy is also good value for money.

I'm happy to help where I can, and if necessary could arrange a Skype chat if necessary but you would have to pm me to arrange.
