Just a hunch, if I were a betting person I'd say they'd be back in work within the next 6 months. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I have learned AP I promise you.
Thank you.0 -
Oh AP give me a break please I know I've messed up hugely I don't need you to beat me up over it again and again
Put her on ignore and be thankful that she wouldn't interview you 'cos you wouldn't want to work for her anyway would you?
Good luck with your appeal, it seems like a harsh decision, we all make errors of judgement and there are some decent employers out there. The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed. Steve Biko0 -
Thank you Jet0

just be honest at interview..... I ALWAYS employ on what happens (and what is said at interview.)....everyone makes mistakes ..if they say they haven't or wouldn't then......frankly they lie...what's important is that it isn't repeated....
employers have a year , sometimes two to figure out if you fit in or not.
I don't know what job you did....it obviously included incurred expenses. My company has, as part of its timesheets an expense declaration...it allows for a declaration for personal expenses occidentally incurred.....which allows mistakes to be open and sorted at this point...Maybe all companies would benefit from this. It prevents loss of competent trained staff due to *company policy* overkill.
I wish you luck and success in the future. Try not to be down hearted,,,a silly mistake ids not always the end of the world..stay positive .0 -
Sulkisu everything I've said is true....I started as a temp at my past employers then was taken on permanently as an Admin and had two further promotions after this. No disciplinary record before now and it was me that actually went to my employer regarding the mistake I had made and was totally upfront.
I know I need to be honest as I could not go through the trauma of the last few weeks ever again...it's been a living nightmare!!!
Sorry OP, I wasn't suggesting that you were lying, I was trying to make you feel better. I just meant that on the information provided, I would be inclined to give you a chance but if there was more to it (even just slightly more), I would think twice. The punishment does seem harsh under the circumstances although clearly they were within their rights to do what they did.0
