Shame on you! - Premier Inn

She was due to arrive at 8pm not 2am so her late arrival was outside her control. It's also irrelevant as how she got to the hotel doesn't matter, it's the lack of care from the premier inn receptionist when faced with this situation that I find disappointing.
I doubt at 3am the premier inn staff were rushed off their feet.
She was due to arrive where at 8pm? She wasn't going to the Premier Inn. So that's 6 hours to come up with a plan.
Plus, you only know one side of the story, and your opinions are based on only knowing some of the facts, the ones the OP wants you to know.
I understand that your opinion is based on lack of information.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
To be fair the OP may have had plans for onward travel by bus or whatever that would be running at 8pm but not at 2am -but in these days of mobiles once it was apparent there were serious delays booking a hotel by phone would have been more prudent.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
if i had been in her situation then yes i would have deserved it if i hadnt taken personal responsibility for myself, especially with the weather being as it is0

I'll try.
No one said helping or not helping someone was a business decision.
I said requiring ID was a business decision.
Two different arguments. You don't mix them together and come up with a ridiculous conclusion
We understand now?
So a business decision stopped an employee from helping someone. There are plenty of things you can do without needing ID. I'll try to remember that there's strict semantic auditing on this thread.0 -

You don't need to know all the information. The only relevant information is that a distressed female was stranded in Dorchester at 3am on a Saturday night and was offered no assistance from someone who was in the position to assist.
I find that disappointing and shows a lack of compassion. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Shame on the Premier Inn receptionist for not going above and beyond the call of duty at 3am in the morning when they already have a full hotel and have already dealt with dozens of strangers coming through the door
Shame on them for not ignoring fire, health and safety regulations and company policy and not accommodating the great unwashed
Shame on them, giving up time with their family at the weekend to work a 12 hour overnight shift for minimum wage.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -

There wasn't an issue with the OP not having ID.
I think you've lost track of what has been said, nothing to do with semantics. You just got yourself in a little muddle.Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -

LOL,
So it's dozens now is it?
If they didn't like dealing with strangers then really they shouldn't work in the hotel industryThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station
Are you saying the rail staff, the police, the general public, taxi drivers, bus drivers, kebab shop owners all failed in their duty?
What about the OPs family and friends? Where were they?
Where were the people like you, goater?Hope over Fear. #VoteYes0 -
Which was in response to post 44 which also has had the personal abuse aimed at me edited....
And responding made you no better!
Sticks and stones .... ring a bell at all?
Don't you see the wonderful irony that you are busy venting and calling on others to show more compassion to those in distress - and then you are abusive yourself!0
