    LOL,

So it's dozens now is it?

If they didn't like dealing with strangers then really they shouldn't work in the hotel industry ;)

If the OP wanted a hotel to stay she should have booked one.

There is no chance that the Premier Inn would let people sleep on the floor anyway, they offer a good night guarantee, so they'd be fighting off requests for refunds from everyone in the hotel if there were people talking/crying/sleeping everywhere.

OP was emotional, and obviously trying not to cry. That can come across as short, and as such, the hotel employee may not have been able to call her back to offer her a phone/advice about other hotels.

Although to be honest, in this day and age, most people wouldn't require that from the receptionist, and you'd need to ask for it if you did. The receptionist would be totally normal to expect OP to be already looking up alternatives on her phone.

So a business decision COULD STOP an employee from helping someone. There are plenty of things you can do without needing ID. I'll try to remember that there's strict semantic auditing on this thread.

There wasn't an issue with the OP not having ID.

I think you've lost track of what has been said, nothing to do with semantics. You just got yourself in a little muddle.

I'm not in a muddle. Are you like this on every thread?

if i had been in her situation then yes i would have deserved it if i hadnt taken personal responsibility for myself, especially with the weather being as it is

I think this is the crux of the matter.
The media was full of warnings about the weather and travelling difficulties and the OP even when it was clear she was delayed did absolutely nothing. No phone calls to secure the needed hotel room. Her lack of personal responsibility was astounding. She describes herself as a mature and responsible woman -but her actions contradict this and the saddest part of all -from her later post is that she still absolves herself of responsibility and has learned absolutely nothing from her experience.

Or if they didn't have a mobile, they could have asked the chain saw wielding train driver to use theirs? ;)

The ID issue was brought up by another poster, nothing to do with the OP. The OP had ID, she had a passport, credit card, driving licence. She had everything she possibly could have. She was still turned away from a Premier Inn

Can you move on now? I don't want to explain again

And responding made you no better!

Sticks and stones .... ring a bell at all?

Don't you see the wonderful irony that you are busy venting and calling on others to show more compassion to those in distress - and then you are abusive yourself!

    Not really.

Slightly different scenario between throwing a woman out into the street at 3am and slapping down a poster on an Internet forum who had a dig at me.....

I was saying it would be sad if the ID issue could stop employees helping desperate people.

So are you like this on every thread? What about in real life?

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station

Are you saying the rail staff, the police, the general public, taxi drivers, bus drivers, kebab shop owners all failed in their duty?

What about the OPs family and friends? Where were they?

Where were the people like you, goater?

Probably wouldn't be a bus driver around at 3am, In fact I would doubt there was anyone around at that time.

The OP asked for help off one person and they let her down.

They didn't actually throw her out. The OP left of her own volition.
