My husband and I played it by ear on our honeymoon in South Africa. We had the first place sorted where we were staying when we arrived, but just called around on the day for the subsequent places.
It worked amazingly for us, but if there were no rooms anywhere, we'd not blame anyone but ourselves!
Yup - I've travelled all round the world like that! As long as you do a bit of research into where is likely to be full/peak times it works well.

This was at 3am in the morning and she must have known that the weather might cause some delays.

Some people haven't figured that they are to blame for things even though they are a "resourceful mature woman".
  • As the OP has repeatedly failed to answer the simple question "What were your plans if the train had arrived on time, and why didnt you just continue with them?" then I suspect the whole story is a load of horse-s**t. The chainsaw only serves to makes it smell even more like a work of fiction.

Either that, or she was heading on a date and hoping to go back to her date's place for the night...

I kept asking what this 'kindness' was she was expecting from PI, to sleep on the floor, snuggle up behind the reception desk?

What a missed opportunity for Premier Inns to get some free, good publicity.

"Premier Inns step in to help out stranded travellers" instead of "No room at Premier Inns"

If they had no rooms what could they have done?

Like I said she could have snuggled up behind the reception desk or let her sleep on the floor & put a load of we floor signs around her so no one trips over her!

Countered with the bad publicity of kicking out their existing guests to make room for said stranded travellers.
