Ive given the thread a 7/10 purely for the train driver getting out of the train with chainsaw in hand to cut up a tree. Are the drivers supposed to get out of the train ?

They can. One of the trains I get often stops at the signal and the driver has to climb down to the signal box to call about it.
I was told by someone who works in the train business that they're encouraged to use the signal box rather that a radio, but not sure why. Maybe to ensure it's the right signal?
Anyway, they can leave the train, but I doubt they'd be allowed to carry a chainsaw to remove trees!

That's my favourite bit, I was hoping it was going to turn into a scene from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre :D

I know, I was thinking the same too except Jason from Friday the 13th.

    Very imaginative from the OP.

Oh yeh I forgot about the signals.

No to the chainsaw, it didn't even happen.

If it did, it would have had to have had some sort of heroic backing music, maybe with the driver standing with his hands on his hips, one foot on the tree, whilst the passengers applauded.

Had the same thing happen a couple of years ago, ended up in Doncaster, last train home and they didnt stop at my station as there was a change to calling stations. Couldnt get in anywhere and they let me sleep in the foyer until daylight with a blanket they provided and a couple of cups of coffee during the night.

I did too -I flew in badly delayed due to snow and due to a delay getting from Heathrow to central London missed the last train home by about a minute.Victoria station closes in the middle of the night (to stop people sleeping rough) I discovered so I weighed up my options and spent the night on a bench inside the nearest Police station reception. (I'd have got a hotel or a cab but had dropped my purse somewhere enroute and didn't really want to get anyone to drive up to get me as it was a work day the next day). I got the first train out in the morning-
No tears, no slagging anyone off. Just one of those things that happens sometimes when you travel. No-one died and the worst I suffered was a crick in my neck. Had I known the tube had delays I'd have slept at Heathrow which would have been warmer though ! :)

Where's this "damsel in distress" stuff coming from?

She wasn't in any distress up until she got to the Premier Inn and realised they couldn't bail her out.

Up until then she was totally oblivious and didn't have a care in the world
