calling me a "$hitbag who's frightened about his pension
May be that was his attempt at humour? If so, he should clarify this to everyone. Otherwise he owes you a big apology, and may be should get reprimanded by Personnel. If none of this will happen, look for a different job.

scottish oil has been carrying england for years, the reason the gov has been cutting everthing is because that cash cow is about to fly. its england that should be very worried. scotland has the space and room to grow, and 60 years of oil left without any fracking. we are in good shape dont worry about us england. we are a hardy bunch up here, as we were at banockburn 700 years ago

According to the Scottish Government's own figures, even including the oil, Scotland generated £53 billion in taxes but spent £65 billion in 2012-2013. Our deficit was 8.3%, compared to 7.3% for the UK as a whole. Spending per head is undeniably higher here than in almost every part of England.

    That's hardly "getting screwed".

And what do we have to lose? Rather a lot, especially if we end up with a different currency.

I think you will find you are basing your decision on a complete misunderstanding of reality.

Here are the figures, on the Scottish Government's own website:

For many - it's is moot, as I'm aware of the les, dammed lies, and statistics to know you can present them any way you like. Far better to be a big fish in a small pond, than a small fish in a larger one.

I'd start looking to Cornwall as they put their case for greater autonomy - and the best of luck and wishes go to them.
