Good post and your points well made. I just happen to have different opinions. On some, not all.
And on that conciliatory note, I think I'll leave you good people to it for a bit. If memory serves me right, it's tomorrow that HM Treasury will issue their latest paper, which undoubtedly will provide us with some more stuff for debate. Should be interesting.0 -

Th Scots will not be kicked out of Europe but will be forced into the Euro. The German concept of lebensraum precludes anyone from leaving Europe.0

It's unbelievably offensive to all Germans to associate a Nazi concept with today's Germany, or Europe. Perhaps you'd like to edit your post.0 -
I've also acknowledged there will be start up costs. Of course there will. I also think there will be long term savings to be made in certain areas. For me it's worth it to have a welfare systems that directly does what it's supposed to.
Given we would start with the current system, it seems likely we will simply get more changes which may or may not have much effect. What we need is a blank sheet of paper - but that isn't likely to be a vote winner. The polls currently indicate that most people are happy with the status quo. Fair enough. But there's also quite a lot of people who aren't.
Don't take a no vote as a vote in favour of the status quo.
A no vote simply means that independence is not the answer to our problems.0 -

An iScotland welfare system would not be able to be significantly out of line with the rUK system, otherwise cross-border movements would impose strains on it. (Assuming various categories of Scots currently living outside Scotland would be "let back in" on request).0
