Popped to shops, friend looking for a large terracotta pot from garden centre handy Asda next door, got some watercress and baby leaves so having a salad with smoked mackerel today. Tomatoes in abundance from greenhouse plus cucumbers, so looking for recipes to use them. Used a whole cucumber in Tzatziki.
Made what I call a milk jelly, sachet of Hartleys sugar free jelly, make up to the pint as I like softer set, add 150g of Greek yoghurt, stir well and just fills my 4 ramekins, 2g carb, 5g fat 3g protein.
Do I need it or just want it.

Tzatziki is fab, we like to make our own too. I  found Morrisons own brand lactose free yogurt, which doesn't have nasties and is made in Greece. I thought, being lactose-free, that it would be lower in carbs. It's 5.8g per 100g. Looked on the Fage website and the Total 5% fat yogurt is 3g per 100g. Luckily, The Husband scoffs yogurt.

One thing which annoys me about British supermarkets, is that while quite happy to sell low carb things like cauliflower rice, they don't have a low carb category, when it comes to recipes.

Here's the Fage Total recipe with video. We squeeze the grated cucumber to get the water out, otherwise it can be watery if the cucumbers are.

Thanks @MrsStepford saved that recipe, I did drain my cucumber but it still turned wet the next day, should have removed the seeds, forgot.
Had kale and chicken livers today.

  • Instead of cutting 100% carbs from my diet, I prefer to go with dark colour flours. They are rich in fibre and lower in carbs and other fats.

Went over my 50g yesterday, had cod and sweet potato fries, today having sausage and ratatouille, hoping to pull back some of yesterdays excess.

I had upset stomach yesterday. I don't normally eat gluten because husband has NCGS but I bought myself a box of Atkins crispbreads from Low Carb Megastore. 2.29 from them IIRC and over £6 from Amazon. Since I'm fine with Boursin and Lactofree white soft cheese, I am now wondering whether I'm gluten-intolerant. The crispbreads were salty and broke easily, so they are now on the bird table. I had two boiled eggs for dinner and some Good Life falafels from Iceland (IIRC 2g carbs each).

Egg and bacon for breakfast, salad for lunch. No ide what's for supper.

ASDA Extra Special Sicilian Giarraffa olives with lemon
ASDA Smoky paprika and chilli Halkidiki olives
    Kuchnia Polski sauerkraut
