Hi Pam. Wondered how you were. Having your fab cruise to look forward to will help you stay focussed.
I'm another 1lb lighter today so really pleased.
Have my MRI scan this afternoon, will be glad when that's over. I know its not painful but I am not really looking forward to it.
Feeling rather low at the moment.
This week I "divorced" my sister. It wasn't easy or pleasant. The aftershocks have been dreadful, chest pains, panic attacks, upset stomach. Hey ho. I know I've done the right thing and that I will feel better in the long run.
Just need to stay focussed on the healthy eating and look after myself now.0 -
Hope you feeling better L.L., I love my sister dearly, we went 11 yrs not speaking after the death of our mother, I missed her every minute, my daughter got dragged into another family member row, my sister also joined in, ending with me saying, "If SHE`S got anything to say she can say it to me not you." 1 looong phone call later and a lot of air cleared we have been fine since, still not speaking to my brother some rifts go too deep, sorry to say our mother would be overjoyed she had caused discord. Sometimes it`s better to walk away.
Planning on starting over tomorrow and keeping focused. Great you are loosing again I will sit and plan menu for the week later.Do I need it or just want it.0 -

I am back, been on my cruise, enjoyed hugely, which resulted in scales hitting 13st, lost 4lb as of this morning but most of that would be water as legs and ankles swollen till today.
Back on track today after shop yesterday, got my favourite celeriac in lidl, then popped into aldi and even cheaper so 3 more.Planning pork chop with cauli mash and celeriac slice sauted in some ghee tonight.Do I need it or just want it.0 -

Ive been doing low carb [20g per day] since august, nothing happened for 2 months until I decided to eat less fat, then the weight flew off. So I lost a stone in just over a month. Start weight was 11st 7, Im at 10st 8 now, goal weight is 9st 7 [my original weight before it went up to 12]
I usually eat a few eggs for breakfast or lunch, and a dinner of a few veggies with a load of meat and a spoon of soft cheese.
I have cream in coffee.
I have a milk ration of 5g carbs per day [about 100ml] for my tea. I use almond milk to double the milk ration.
BUT.. I have eaten some mince pies, sweets and had some wine over the last two days, so I now feel horrible. Ive stuck to my macros since I started, so Im not exactly enjoying these foods, I think its more that everyone else is eating them willy nilly and I feel a bit left out.
One more day to get through, then I will be back low-carbing correctly!
Have a great christmas''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -

I'm trying to low carb, but the food budget is really tight this month. How many g of carbs are we all aiming for. I've been trying for 50g but I think that's too highJan GC £57.26/£50
Feb GC £17.06/£60

I did do low carb once, I lost over a stone but must confess I couldn’t keep it up.
Personally I’m not going to try cutting back before the middle of the month. Note I said cutting back not dieting. Experience has taught me that if I ‘Diet’ I’ll just crave food and eventually my good intentions will fly out the window. Instead I’ll be more careful with what I eat, I’ll avoid the cakes and crisps and such like and try to cut out snacks altogether. And of course more exercise
By not starting until the middle of the month all the Christmas goodies should be gone and that will make it easier
For those dedicated low carb members tell me If I try to cut out as many low carbs as possible without actually counting carbs is that effective. Or must you do the diet in order to loose the weight?0
