The 5/2 diet (or 1/6 if that suits you better) can be combined with staying low carb.
Yes, that's what I was basing it on. I choose to do this on a Tuesday because it is my shopping day and I'm out & busy most of the day so I don't miss the lack of food.Weight loss 0/2st

Hello! :hello:
I've been off message for a while but still LCing like a demon
You will all be pleased to know that I've sorted out the links on the newly re-posted recipe list. All should work but would appreciate someone checking it out in case I missed something.
The below link is to the one I can update. The earlier one is now closed to me but I hope the new one will stay current for some goodly long timeBetter had :rotfl:

So if you could all check out your fave recipes and others and give me feedback, I'd really appreciate it.
I had two choices this eve. Do lots of horrible housework or man up and sort the list. I realised I owed it to low carbers everywhere to spend 2 hours doing their list and to hell with the vaccuuming! :j  :T :rotfl: That can wait.
So, let me know how it went:rotfl:
Big love
Mx
EDIT: I have realised, by going through it item by item, that the list is a rambling affair. It's been added to as and when. I think I may index it somewhat - when the vaccuuming becomes too threatening againSo be prepared! It may one day actually make sense

Lost 1lb this week and finally reached my 2st goal. I am no longer obese but just overweight according to my BMI. I know I've still a long way to go but it sounds so much better!
B: Flax porridge with cream and berries.
L: Flax bread with Lactofree 'cheddar' cheese and Lactofree soft cheeseCoconut flax pancakes with chocolate sauce.(fancied something sweet)
Had an idea for making chocolate sauce. I'm going to melt coconut oil in a pan, mix in some cocoa powder and then add some cream, and stevia. I'll let you know if it works.
I realised I'm starting to get bored with eating savoury most of the time so thought I would treat myself this evening and have a dessert type meal instead.Weight loss 0/2st

Glad to hear that you are all doing so well :T
I really came off the wagon at the end of last year and gained quite quickly so be warnedI am now 2 and a half stone heavier than my lowest but still 4 stone lighter than my heaviest so must get it under control. With the better weather I will start trying to keep lower carb and do the 5:2 at the same time as after a month of really low carb in February I lost precisely nothing.
How is your ME durham-mim?
Mercy - the links work and you are a star x
Hi Minihauk, gunsandbanjos, eleanor73, JudithB, Mojisola, DEBTMONKEY1A, Ep007 etc.
This board has been really quiet of late but it is good to see it is picking up so, however busy you are, keep posting as we need to help and encourage each other.
Have a good day0 -
Just a quickie with a fab pancake recipe. All still on track for me....6 1/2 kg-just under 5 weeks. Pressure cooked some yellow soy beans (£1 for 500 gm dried at asian supermarket)-4 carbs net per approx 100 gm (1/3 or more less carbs than baked beans/most others)-gonna freeze-use in salads & make some low carb baked beans-will report back!
PM'D Mercy to put in right place! My 2 x 20 gm coconut oil in 2 cups coffee seems to be working too!
Low carb Almond & Coconut Pancakes-sweet or Savory! (makes 4 largish pancakes for 2 people). 7 carbs ttl per recipe-3.5 carbs per person for 2 pancakes!
Ingredients:
• 1 (75 gm) cup almond meal/flour/ground almonds
• 2 eggs,
• 1/2 cup water (120 ml-5 tablespoon's)
• 2 Teaspoons oil/butter
• 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste-1 like the slightly salty taste)
• ½ tsp baking powder
(For sweet pancakes add zero carb sweetener to taste & vanilla escence-or any other escence you like!).
Preparation:
Mix dry ingredients together –add eggs & water. Mix well. Sit for 10 minutes if you have time for coconut flour to absorb water fully. Heat a little oil in a 7 inch pan approx, put 2 ladles (1/4 of mix) of batter in pan-swirl immediately to fill pan . Cook on medium heat for 3-4 mins-until edges start browning & you see little ‘bubbles/air pockets’ in the middle of pancake (& surface apart from middle is dryish), flip them when the underside is brown & just another 2 mins on other side.
Eat straight away or keep warm covered under foil in oven. Can be frozen (stack between grease proof paper in a zip lock bag).
Serving suggestions;-
• Plain with lemon juice, splenda & a bit cream-yum! Add 10gms 85% tesco dark choc chips-adds only 2.5 gms carbs extra-roll in pancake!
• As above with 100 gm frozen raspberries-ttl-9.8 carbs for 2 pancakes!
• Chopped bacon, 25 gm onion, cheese (approx 100 gm) & mayo & mustard-7 carbs ttl-2 pancakes
• With nuttela-measure 10 gm nutella, a little cream, some splenda, lemon juice (if wanted)-approx 10 carbs ttl!
• Cold pancakes as a crepe/wrap with 100 gm full fat cheese (soft), 25 gm chopped spring onion, 100 gm chedder cheese-8 gms carbs ttl for 2 pancakes
• As a cold wrap/crepe-mayonnaise, cooked chicken tikka & salad leaves-7 net carbs ttl.
Hope this helps & gives ideas!0 -

Hi everyone,
Mercy - your links work thanks! I am going to make the butter chicken tonight
I have hit 2 stone!!! Whooopeeeee:j That is since Jan 2nd 2014 and I am so pleased. I have 4lbs left to go for my wedding target weight so should get there ok :-) I hope I can stay slim after the wedding. I know I am not going to be as strict but have a bit of a fear of bread and haribo now so don't think I will go back to my old ways.
Well done to the weight losers!Keep it up everyone!
