  • personally, when i have to many carbs, my weight loss slows right down for 7 to 10 days just keep at it and it will come eventually.

    Hi,newbie here, what's the most that anyone has lost in a week doing low carb? Just interested to hear :-)

    ive lost 7lbs in a week, my 2nd week on it.

    if you stick with this it can be good, its when u cheat once its hard to get back on track.

    Wow that's great! Have you been doing it strictly or just cutting out potatoes, bread, etc?

    Any tips will help!!

    If you do choose to go low carb I'd recommend doing your research and maybe buying a book if you are going to follow one of the plans.

    Hi,

    Back from my hen do and cheated very massively! Cakes, wine, bread etc etc!! Felt horrific yesterday but back to it today. Had bacon and spring onion scrambled eggs for lunch and just about to have chicken, brocolli, cauli and a mustardy cream sauce. How is everyone doing?

    Hi guys/gals! All still going great, 5kg total so far & I 'feel' slim this weeks so think next weigh in will be good next Monday. Have increased water to around 6 pints a day (i know for some not practical but some of my work is from home) & also upped my coconut oil in the am (40gm-in 2 huge cramy strong coffees....sounds horrid but YUM!)...made loadsa new recipes & have perfected pancakes/wraps now...did a lovely Indian meal for GF last night-low carb bhajis (mushroom-did with almonds-ultra tasty but not quite as crisp), seek beef kebabs & THE MOST DELISH 'pau ' mash....indian mashed potato & veg-all mashed with loadsa butter-found low carb recipe & used frozen cauli-YUM! Doesn't taste at all of cauli & ultra low carb...in fact tasted like an ultra thick lentil dall with tarka (oil/butter fry at thend with garlic spices) added...I'm guestimating at 15-17 carbs the LOT (probably over-estimating-did not affect ketostix)-when I get some time (soz-been ultra busy)-will post. Next project is ultra low carb frozen fruit jam (aldi forest fruits-6.3gm carb/100g)-thickened with chia seeds-fab on pancakes (I hope!). Also....blood pressure is lower than its ever ever been-even had one am at 113/75! Averaging 120-130 over 80-85-spot on! Pulse rate up 'a bit'-but absolutely within limits-maybe body adjusting? Also only had time for weights-no cardio at gym. Will check in soon with more recipes.

    best bit is breakfasts....anyone that thinks breakfast is all meat/cheese eggs...wrong-& how wrong was I too! Coconut pancakes, nearly zero carb flax pancakes, ham/cheese onion cakes, crepes with apple & walnuts, homemade flax porridge (yum-with full fat cream cheese/nuts/frozen fruit). flax bread/paleo style (frozen-26 slices)-with peanut butter or cheese, & mashes at night???! Had a DIVINE celariac mash with feta, mustard garlic & chilli-200gm of it-8-9 carbS MAX....who needs spuds!

    Oh dear ....I'm back ...in more ways than one ...back to square one basically.

    Still today is a new day ......got 35.5 pounds to lose only been trying to lose it for 2 years now. Low carb should be great for me as I love all meat...trying to avoid dairy as I think I have a problem with it...but don't like eggs or veg or salad

    Setting myself half stone targets ...will just be nice to see the first number on the scales change .....wish me luck ...again

    Please share some recipes ....I don't drink any water..do you limit portion sizes or can you eat as much as you want...problem is I never feel full even on high protein foods

    Soz-a quickie-at work! Water...pain in the butt i know but I've read ultra important to lose fat-aim for 6 pints a day! no...don'r measure/weigh anything. FAT is the key...cream cheese with zero cal sweetener + vanilla extract etc. Tip-500gm coconut oil-tesco-1 tablespoon in your coffee in the am+ cream+ zero calorie sweetener...add it to loads of stuff! Google it-doesn't burn as calories (not stored as fat)-slighlty increases metabolic rate & helps fat burning.

    Ep007...my best tip in 1st 2-3 weeks is stick to 20gm carb a day, weigh everything you're not sure about (buy a gm cheap scale at argos), be a bit anal with the carb counts. If you like sugar/sweet stuff-go on amazon & buy 'liquid sucralose'NO CARBS/CALORIES-ultra concentrated-will last for ages. the shop stuff is 0.5 gms carb/tsp. Not a lot but if you like to bake, sweet stuff, sweet cream etc-invaluable. Will post some recipes when more time.
