I've eaten only 2 bars.
I've found the diet is so good that I am complete satisfied between each meal and I no longer crave anything or feel like nibbling.
But, if I were desperate, I'd probably have a banana or some coconut water.
Coconut water is great for keeping you hydrated and has all the electrolytes you need to keep you going.
Thanks POP. Because i have Hypoglycemia and very low blood glucose levels, i have to have food on me all the time, as i often get dizzy and lightheaded.
I would prefer something savoury..so trying to think of what i could take shopping with me.0 -
Well I finally got on the scales for the first time this year this morning. I know I put weight on at Christmas with eating lots of cake, puds, carbs etc. However I'm pleased to find I'm back at the weight I was before Christmas due to going back to low carbing most of the time.Make £2025 in 2025

I have only recently begun low carb eating after years of yo-yo dieting.
I am trying to lose 1.5 stones - I lost 3.5 stones about 5 years ago and have managed to keep most of it off but it has recently started creeping back on.
I am still trying to get my head around being able to eat butter cream and cheese but am really enjoying my new food although I am really missing bread as I love fresh bread from my local bakery.
I have been low carb now for nearly 1 week.
I wanted to ask what to use to thicken cheese sauces and gravy - I would usually use corn flour but wondered if there was an alternative.
Many thanks for any advice0 -
Silverbeatle have a look at this, you may find it interesting http://www.livestrong.com/article/520466-how-to-thicken-low-carb-gravy/0

Have a look here also silverbeetle, http://lowcarbluxury.com/lowcarb-sauces.html. Are you no carb or low carb, I am TRYING to keep about 50g carb a day, I have tried some of the carb bread recipes involving egg whites and ground almond, not keen. Have you tried the lidl rolls, they have made them smaller, 80g now, https://www.fatsecret.co.uk/calories-nutrition/lidl/high-protein-roll/100g
I am camping in my bungalow at the moment, decorator doing hall and bedroom, so not doing badly as I am able to prep my meal and when he goes about 4-30 get it cooked. but it`s stopping me grazing through the day.Do I need it or just want it.0 -

Whenever I do gravy I use tapioca starch as we don't eat any grains of any kind.
Its not low carb as such, but will be the only carb we have all day so is fine for us.
It's just a case of finding what works for you. If you can go all day with no other carbs, then your cornstarch is going to be fine for the gravy0 -
I have been on a low carb diet for a week now but have gained 1 pound this week 😢
I have stuck to only eating quality meat, eggs, loads of veg, some cheese, few nuts each day. Where have I gone wrong?
I am eating a full fat yoghurt with small handful of blueberries for breakfast or 2 scrambled eggs. Lunch is chicken breast or pork chop with veg. Then salad with cheese or ham for tea.
I am thinking of giving up as I don't want to put more weight on. I need to lose 1.5 stones0 -
Stick with it silverbeetle, it takes a little while for your body to adapt to low carbing. A pound up or down isn't much either way, it could just be water retention.
What I found is that my weight stayed stable for a few weeks, then starts to come off in lumps. You're eating the same sorts of things that I was.
What sort of veg are you eating? Presumably not potatoes. Carrots are quite carby. Green leafy veg are good, as is plenty of cauliflower. Do a recipe search for cauliflower rice, it's the backbone of replacements for spuds, pasta and rice.
ETA, I lost a stone 3 years ago and it's not gone back on by sticking with low carb high fat.Make £2025 in 2025

Oops, fell off the wagon as i succumbed to the sweet and chocolate cravings. Gained 2lbs!
Back on it today though. Not very hungry today, probably due to the half tube of pringles and revels i had last night..:o
So going to wait until I'm hungry. Started the day with coffee (decaff) with coconut cream in it. My favourite.0 -
I am eating cauli, broccoli, spinach, cabbage, sprouts, mushrooms, salad, green beans, peas, 2 raw carrots each day
No potatoes, bread, cakes, chocolate, crisps etc
I have been eating a handful of grapes if I have a sugar craving - luckily I stopped eating chocolate about 6 months ago as it was giving me terrible problems with acid reflux and I am no longer getting chocolate cravings. I now am only having cravings for fresh granary bread
Thanks for the replies - its really encouraging. I will stick with it but was expecting to have lost something not to have put extra on.0
