So after a glass of coconut water and a little salt, i feel totally different, no nausea, headache or exhaustion!0 -
I never used to add salt to my food, only used it in the cooking process, but I now find if I don`t put it occasionally on my food I get cramp.Do I need it or just want it.0

I recently started (10 days ago) a LCHF diet and am now starting to use MyFitnessPal App for my food dairy. It ties in well with my Fitbit
Anyway tonight I was looking at the stats and discovered that today's carbs Came in at 42g ( I'm trying to stay below 50, at least for the first fortnight till I see how it goes). I also noticed that the sugar was down as 14 g. Now I've come across the term Net Carbs and I'm wondering if this is 42 less 14 giving 28 Net Carbs and is this the actual total I should be looking at?
It occurred to me that if this is the case then I can add some more foods into my diet e.g. An orange, an apple, perhaps the odd potato or a bit of savoury rice
As I said I'm just starting this way of eating and am not really sure what's what. Hope someone can advise

No I am afraid you can`t, in the U.K, the fibre is already deducted to give you "net" carbs, the U.S. do it differently. If you look at a label on a packet or tin it will say carbs amount and under , of which sugars,Do I need it or just want it.0

I started lchf in January, and have lost 19lbs so far. I'm really enjoying it, not missing bread or carbs at all (surprisingly!!) I have so much more energy and bounce in my life, and I've not been bloated since I started!
Just found this thread, so I'll be keen to get recipes, ideas etc!0 -

Enjoy your coconut water
If you don;t want to offer support to those who choose a Low Carb Diet, then I;m not sure why you are bothering with this thread.0 -

Morning All
Ahhh, i didnt know about Net Carbs, so my carb intake has obviously been higher than expected as I've been deducting the fibre. Darn it!
I seem to have gotten over the worst of the Keto Flu. Feeling much better now. Not craving any chocolate, bread, rice or pasta.
Not eating meat and eggs is making things a little tricky, but plenty of research online has really helped0 -
