Phone call idiots....

So, it's paranoia then ??? They don't recognise the number - but they ring back 'cause they can't bear not to know then they won't admit who they are in case it's a scammer who can now do horrible things by knowing their name? Can't work that one out - if it's a scammer or a PPI seller doing random calls then the very act of responding has given them the information that the number is valid and has a human being.
Googling our number will certainly give you our website - and if that doesn't remind you who we are or why we might have called you - perhaps you shouldn't bother?
If you don't identify yourself and just ask what we're calling about then the next question is going to have to be "Can you give us your name please." So you haven't found out anything
By answering the phone. They just know the phone number exists, it could be anyone, so they do not know your ID.
I get the same number ring multiple times, even though I miss there calls. So by not answering at all makes very little difference.
I can Google when next to a PC, but I am often not near one, so I can not check.
Plenty of number do not come up with anything as well.
I have often had people ring up from a random number as there phone battery had died.
I think your getting to tied about your specific job and why people ring you. We are talking in more general terms of ringing some one back who you had missed calls from.
After all if I missed a call from friend who has changed there phone number, when they pick the phone up they will talk so I know who it is.
If I am out and about, I get a missed call and feel like seeing who it was. Then if I ring back, I let you say who you are before and a rough idea of why you rang me, before I decide if I want you knowing who I am. If that annoys the person on the other end so be it.0
