Phone call idiots....

Does anyone else get this… It happens to me a couple of times a week.
Office Phone rings. I answer and the caller says “Hi. I got a missed call from this number.” Then stops. There are about 8 of us who could have called you and you are one of at least 200 people that we might have reason to call. Why do you think we psychically know who you are? Are you so arrogant or self-centred that you can’t imagine that you aren’t the most important person in our universe?
Actually, a lot of them are 16 to 24 year olds so could it be that they are so used to mobile phones displaying the name of a caller that they can’t conceive of the possibility of a landline not doing this?
But then… Doorbell rings. I answer the door and say “Hello. How can we help?” About a third try to walk straight through me without speaking. About a third mumble “I’m here for the creative thing…”. Only 1 in 3 actually identify themselves. If you can’t manage a simple sentence like “Hello, I’m X and I’ve got an interview with Mr Y” maybe there’s a reason you’re unemployed?
Or am I just getting old?

What other information do you want the cllaer to tell you. They have no idea who you are, hence their calling back.
Is it really that difficult for you to tell the caller what company you are, so they can then work out what the call may be about.0 -

Why should he? After all it was THEM who called HIM.
And note that the OP doesn't say either way whether or not he had already identified himself/his company.0 -
Why would anyone bother calling back a missed call that they don't recognise? If the caller can't be bothered to leave a message then as far as I'm concerned their call wasn't important and they get ignored.0

I'm with imoneyop, I just don't understand why people want to call back a number that doesn't belong to anybody they know.
I never check my phone to see what numbers might have tried to contact me as I believe if anybody really wanted to speak to me, they will call again. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
If you call me & don't leave a message, just hang up then I will call to find out 1) who you are/what company & 2) what you wanted.
Arrogance is calling someone, not leaving a message then having the gall to complain when they call back asking whay you called them. Have some manners & leave a message. Simple.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
