  • Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. We were all spoilt. Also sales shopping. Oops. I did get a whole wardrobe of work clothes for about 40 pounds. Need to have a sort out of my clothes and donate some.

House is getting back to some normality after all the unwrapping. Little person was poorly yesterday so that kept us mainly at home. Dh had his birthday and twiddly is in two days time. Busy time of year!!!

Focus back on overpayments in January. Have made the 200 overpayment for December and also made my last ever student loan payment. Finally .

  • Yes it means I will be able to overpay another £120 a month. That will mean a £320 monthly overpayment. I am also planning on writing down all purchases for the whole of 2015. We shall see how it goes. Am going to keep a log and see how I manage. Has anyone else managed that? I know you can get apps but I am not very good at keeping up. X

Happy new year. Started with a no spend day. Much needed after the fun and frolics of December. New Years resolution is to take time for me and to be more organised. I am quite an organised person but I want to do more stuff rather than procrastinating.

Today I have done a wash load. Updated the calendar and played with tiddly with no interruptions. It's a start.

  • Healthy eating going well. Also sold something on Facebook. Collection on Friday. Not a bad start. Will see what I can make in January and put it in a pot. Will eventually become an overpayment. Going to log on to work tomorrow for the first time since Christmas Eve.

  • Logged on for the first time to the bank since mid December as didn't want to spoil any Christmas surprises from the joint account. Things are looking ok. Next overpayment due 16th £200. Need to then change it to £300 for February. Overpayment calculator calculates that as £52k in interest saved and just over 9 years off the term. Happy days.

Overpayment of 300 paid today and 200 due on the 16th. Mortgage is down to 215 k. Chipping away!!

Need to do my expenses as that will all go into another overpayment. Looking like it is a good time to remortgage. Just to sort it out. End of March/ early April and hopefully the ball will be rolling

Have an appointment a week tomorrow to sort out the remortgage. 200 pounds a month cheaper. Will be putting that in as a direct debit repayment :). Hopefully we get a cracking deal
