I'm planning on going on a holiday, two week all inclusive, has any one ever managed to continue fast days on holidays?
I was in Florida for ten days last year and lost 2.5lbs, I'm attributing that to all the walking mind you!0 -
I'm afraid I couldn't do that piglet, I'd feel like I was wasting money paying for all inclusive then fasting!
I guess to protect weight loss try to fill up on fruit? I don't like to make myself diet while away thoughTrying to lose weight (13.5lb to go)0 -
Not had much to report over the last three weeks as I went from the 4:3 (which I had done for 4 weeks previous to this) to 5:2. I have had a fair bit on in terms of birthday parties, get togethers etc so fortunately for the two weeks before this 5:2 kept my weight constant although fat did slightly drop off the body. This week I had my daughters birthday on Tuesday, have a party tomorrow and long weekend away so did the 4:3 and have now lost enough weight to have reached a couple of milestones - 4 stones and according to the NHS diagram I am now in normal weight range for my height (but right at the top of the range).
I have a week off in August plus my birthday and then a week off in September. So it will be difficult to stay as disciplined as I have been. But I'm hoping to stay at this weight at least by doing 4:3 and 5:2 alternative weeks. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sorry piglet, but there's no way I could do the 5:2 on an all inclusive holiday. Too much temptation! I take the view that you might as well indulge and then get back on track on your return. Ok, it will set you back but at least you've had a great holiday. I've got a few pounds to lose before our next big holiday in September which is a tour of the American National Parks. Also, as the U.S is not the best country for eating sparingly, I think it might be a good idea to have some reserve, so the next few weeks I shall be applying myself more than usual.0

Just spotted this thread.
I did 5:2 a couple of years ago. Managed to lose about three stone with the combination of diet and exercise (weights and cardio). Bought new clothes because the old ones no longer fitted me.
Got married, and everything went out the window. Gained a stone that I'm desperately trying to lose again.
Has anyone taken a break from 5:2 and found it hard to get back into?
I've always skipped breakfast and lunch, and just eaten dinner since I would struggle to go to bed on an empty stomach. I've tried to restart this and can resist food until about 5pm when it's almost home time and there's biscuits for staff at work.0 -

Take into work something low cal that you can have as a snack while the others eat their biscuits.0 -
Well, I don't know whether to be pleased or not: my favourite dress is now too big.
It used to fit perfectly and was very flattering, now loose around waist and bust.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Just survived a 13 day tour of the Southern USA, where it was difficult to eat healthily and the wine was tempting.
However, we did our best, two meals a day and just a single ice cream, in Graceland! At DS's place now and delighted to say that I've not gained a pound.
Fasted yesterday.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

Wow, Pollypenny how on earth did you do that?? We are on a tour of the American National Parks in September and can anticipate putting some weight on, so were you really careful or did you do lots of walking to counteract the food?0

Bit of both. Few breakfasts were the only included meals. We tended to keep,to two meals a day and I only had one ice cream the whole time. I'm not a picker, so found it easy to avoid snacking.
We did a fair bit of walking, even though it was very hot, so I suppose I sweated off some.
Our appetites and habits have changed, too. OH made balsamic roast veg from the 5:2 book yesterday, I made salad, DIL had done some meat thing.
I'm still looking for the psychological 9st something, though. It's all in lbs on American scales, do even if/ when I lose a pound more, I'll have to wait until I get home to see that.
130lbs is my goal for next week.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
