5:2 Diet (part II)

I love this diet. I actually do 4/3 but do not limit myself on my non fast days. Working a treat or was until I switched to days from night work. Completely upset my sleep and diet pattern gained several pounds but have now got my head around it again so off we go. I find limiting carbs on diet days helps also only having one portion of carbs on non diet days but they can be anything I fancy including chunky chips!SCP # 034

I limit carbs on diet days as I like them less than the alternatives so it is easy to drop themI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

The Fast Diet kitchen stuff didn't appeal to me - I do breakfast and dinner and I don't want soup for breakfast!! Also my DH is following the plan now and he would not touch that stuff.
I'd have the soup for lunch and the mains for dinner, the combinations come to around the 450 cal mark. I'm happy to skip breakfast because I'm never hungry first thing (even after a FD) and think this diet is a god-send for those of us who want an excuse! I'd fill up on raw veggies if I get hungry plus lost of water of course. Well that's the plan anyway.£2 Savers Club 2016 #21 £14/£250

Well I'm struggling big time today. Kind of feel I've failed as I've had to have 99cal soup for lunch when normally I save this for a packet of crisps after my dinner.
I'm on strong painkillers for an arm injury and I don't think they mix well with not eating as I have been getting stomach cramps and when I looked up the side effects, it said stomach bleeding!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

some medication should never be taken on an empty stomach. Maybe take a break until you are off the meds?

I reached my first milestone of a stone off this morning. It has taken me 6 weeks. I still need to lose another stone but am so pleased with my progress so far. My husband is giving it a go and has lost quite well so far too, although slower as he is not being as careful on the 5 other days as I am.
I have my half brother's wedding on Saturday, then a week without DD where we might go out a couple of times (because we can), then a week diving in an all inclusive resort which is bound to be a bit damaging, then back on the planI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Another fast day for me. Not struggling as much as I did on Monday, but think I had a tummy bug rather than effects from my medication as my mum, my friend, my sister in law and one of my daughters have had dodgy tummies this week.
It 2.35pm and I won't lie. I'm hungry. But I only have to last till 6pm and I can have my ready meal (this is what I tend to have on fast days as I want to stay out of the kitchen).
What is going to be hard is watching my mum and youngest daughter eat sausages (my eldest is going to their dad's for dinner, but youngest decided "I don't like his cooking!").
So far I have had a coffee, one fruit tea and am now having my second fruit tea. And 1 1/4 litres of water down the hatchet.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Well done for sticking with it
I thought today would be hard as I had a very tiring day yesterday with an evening dive refresher course which was physically hard work. So far I am doing OK - breakfast was fat free yogurt with berries and a drizzle of maple syrup and a cup of tea. Since then I have had 4 pints of water and am considering a fruit tea soon. Tonight's dinner is going to be a bit rushed as OH and I both have evening appointments - I have pork fillet and stir fry ingredients which will get thrown together somehow.
We are off to a family wedding on Saturday - I will have to take it easy on the fizz as I have hardly drunk any alcohol in the last few weeks.
Good news on the measurements here - it is the first time I have bothered taking measurements at the start.
Since 26th May (start date) I have lost 1.5" from waist, 2 " from hips and 2" from each thigh. As a pear shape there is still plenty more to lose but it is nice to see that progress since I am still wearing the same sized clothes - they just look better and no buttons are at risk any more!I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Mallygirl - I forgot to take measurements, but I feel that my clothes are looser and that's good enough for me. I haven't lost a huge amount of weight on this diet, but I don't have a lot to lose and it's the diet that I find easiest to stick to. Once today's over, I can look forward to a nice dinner and bottle of wine tomorrow evening.
A lot of people have said it and I agree, that I don't feel the need to completely splurge on my "feast days."Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
