    Hello

Well last week - week 2 for me was totally sabotaged by me :) I really did try then I went and gone and done it at least 4 times with the crisps on one day. So totally binge drinking and eating all I can etc

Glad that's out of the way. I always do that.

Put on one of the 2 pounds I lost. :D

So this week. Fast day 1 - fine, that was Monday.
Fast day 2 Thursday ate as I was supposed to do then binged on nuts. I really didn't like how I felt post nut binge. All full n bloaty. That was Thursday, I weigh in and measure on Monday morn.

On the normal days - when I'm behaving - I eat about 1750 cals easily without any feel of deprivation. And I enjoy the fast days.

Have to say since starting this - whatever my personal foibles I've been more alert and actually more mentally 'at work' enough to alarm my colleagues :rotfl:

    All to the good :)

We all have Mother's day on Sunday - hoping to get off with a load of KFC if I'm honest :) But FD on Monday and if I'm still down a pound after last week's antics I should hold steady or lose this week.

I haven't had any alcohol this week so am hoping for a grace pass to get me over this weekend :)

I have felt so clear, so motivated at work - not felt like that in a good while. If that's what I get - I'm on happy street :)

I measure too so Monday will tell :)

I'm in this for the long haul
    See you soon :)

  • I have been back on 5.2for the last week. This is the easiest I have found it using vlcd on fast days, actually managed three days!
Iam also feeling more energised and positive, probably as a result of the crxp Im not eating!

Eating reasonably on non fast days. At least I am not craving food all the time:)

I'm more than a month in and lost nearly a stone

I'm doing 4:3 as I find one day on/one day off seems to work for me better (and I am eternally scatterbrained anyway).

No caffeine on fast days, herbal tea allll day (which I'll never enjoy the way I do the evil stuff) but it's bearable so far. Lemon & Ginger and Fennel Teas are the best of a bad bunch :p Going to try Liquorice tea next.

I fill up on soups, salad with fish, things like that. Temptation hasn't really been an issue for me, because I know I can be "normal" tomorrow. I just tell myself "perseverance" as my mum said to me when I was a little girl....

If I want a sugar treat I have a yoghurt covered or chocolate covered rice cake (84 calories!!) but I find that once the ball gets rolling there, you crave more....probably best avoiding sugary things full stop on fast days.

My fighting weight was around 9.5 stones for decades (I'm 6'1 so I was always rather underweight) and was one of those annoying people who could eat carp and not put a pound on. A combination of anti-depressant meds and middle age looming have made me steadily put weight on these last few years!

I'm finding it surprisingly easy to stick to...the next hurdle is finding exercise that doesn't bore me (though I do like putting on headphones and going for walks...have to up the ante there)!

    Hi all

I think I'm on week 4 and I have just done my second fast day of the week.

I have learned many things on this way. Enjoying fast days in general - eat at 7pm, just 2 cups of bouillon, lots of water and green tea with a bit of cinnamon before then :)

Enjoy being able to eat generally less on a normal day :)

I do 2 fast days in the working week, 3 days of generally staying below 1800 cals also in the work week and no counting nor worrying about it on the weekend :)

Week 2 was self sabotaged and yesterday I had a bit too much wine - made me very hungry on my fast day today. So ate something :) Will be clocking on 750 cals today - not really a problem as I learned not to drink alcohol the day before a FD.

Still, as of yesterday, taking all the bad 2nd week and my love of KFC on sunday - I have lost 2 kg. :j

I'm sure that as I progress I will lose more.

I have found out lots of things about my relationship with food and how to do this way properly. I am clearer in my mind all the time - FDs especially.

This is good for me :)

    Big love XXX

  • I'm really interested in this diet. Wondering if it would suit me. ANy tips gratefully received x

My advice for fasting diets is to combine them with some kind of really whole food eating plan. One that ditches all the empty calories of breads, sugars and some legumes and starches.

If it's full of nutrients, eat it. If it's not, steer clear. Your fasting days will fly by, as your body won't be screaming for nutrients or trying to recover from a massive glycemic load.

Veggies, meats, fish, fats, nuts, berries, bananas, avacado, dairy if your not intolerant.

:j:j:j Whoop Whoop - got below the 150lb today. I'd plateau'd for the last 2/3 weeks but I've kept going & now only a couple of pounds to go but if I'm honest I think they will probably take as long as i am so near my 'goal weight'
I'm 5'10" & was always aroung 10st 4lb but as I'm in my late '60's I think an extra couple of pounds is permissable ;)
Keep it up chaps - you can do it!

Well done silvasaver! :j Bet that felt good :)

I am learning so much on this food plan :)

I weigh every work day in the morn - in same clothes after toilet :)
This morn I weighed about what I weighed on Friday. This to me solidifies my 2kg loss :) After the weekend :) I'm usually a bit up.

I know weighing every day is not necessarily good for most but I really don't get down if it hasn't changed or gone up a bit. EG, for a laugh I weighed at 7pm yesterday - naked :) And I was 1.7kg up :) All gone by morning :) I do this periodically to remind myself that the scales are a massive fraud :) Not prepared to give them up though :)

So, on a fast day I start with a mini bullet proof coffee ( as I do every day) That's 3g of coconut oil and 3g of butter. After that I only have a couple of cups of Marigold bouillon - 1 at breakfast at work and 1 at Lunch. Tastes really good and adds a bit of salt as I also drink around 2L of water :)

For the evening I have started finely chopping up 1/2 a red pepper, abt 100g mushrooms and 2 or 3 spring onions. Sweated for a coupla mins on low in micro. Left for at least 10 mins. I then add 1 small can of (rinsed and drained) sweetcorn and a small tin of very drained tuna in spring water. Minus 2 teaspoons - 1 for each of the cats :) Pop back in micro till well hot. Then stir in 2 tablespoons of sweet chilli dipping sauce. Takes an age to eat :) Tastes fantastic :)

Still have cals available for about 100ml of ff goats milk and about 2 tablespoons of cream. I sip this for supper just before bed and sleep like the dead :)

I love fast days and am making better choices on my normal days.
All is good chez mercy :)

Big love to other fasters - it's doing us good :) XXX

Going to try this out too.

Will need to look at what is on offer for food to try and enable to stick to this level of calories.

I did an online check and it gave me a guide of 1680 calories for daily rate.

I ended up buying these ketone capsules, probably a waste of money but got them now.

Also hoping to get a bit more physical work, although dealing with a knee injury I sustained last year, which I have a meeting with physio again. Need to do a bit more exercise.

Started only last week, my scales aren't the greatest and a bit hard to see, lol, but I've lost between 0.5-1lb so far, even though I was a tad bad on Sunday.

Into the bargain Friday and Saturday I don't work to the 1680 (that's only for 3 out of the 5 days, with the other 2 being the '600'ish). But don't intend to go daft.

    Hi jinny

This is a link to how to make bulletproof coffee.
    https://www.bulletproofexec.com/bulletproof-coffee-recipe/

Now, I would find this a little extreme so I use a good strong instant - Millicano for preference, Kerrygold grass fed unsalted butter and a good food grade coconut oil - I get mine from Holland and Barrett.

My mini BPC is one strong black with generally 4g of butter and 3g of coconut oil dropped in the top. You have to stir it a lot and although the fat still floats, it is really pleasant to drink. I make another coffee on top as well once I've drunk the first. This 'mops up' the fat I didn't drink the first time. :rotfl:

I have this every morning now. I count each gram of fat as 9cals so stay on track. On Fast days I do use a little less - 3g butter and 2g coconut oil. (45 cals of stuff that works for me :) )

The effects are interesting :) I drink my coffee 5 - 6 am then if it's a normal day I eat at 7.30 at work. FDs I have a cup of bouillon.

I have felt clearer in my head - but that could be this way of eating - best of all I really find I eat less in the day. I don't get very hungry until 3 or 4pm on a FD and eat much less for breakfast naturally on normal days.

I currently count my cals on all 5 work days. Adding this morning fat hasn't made me over my chosen cals for the day at all - I work it in and am naturally down from a likely 1000 cals in the working day to a regular 750. Leaving plenty of scope for evening meal but I'm not starving so eat sensibly then too :)

I enjoy the mini BPC and it has made my choices different as, if we are going to count cals, it's nice to maximise one's potential :rotfl:

    Hope this explains it.

I already used Kerrygold and a good coconut oil so it was an easy try for me. I'm so glad I did it and was amazed at the body feedback for calories involved. The full version would take some massive commitment but my mini version is tasty and apparently useful for me :)

It is also possible that I am setting myself up for burning fat, especially on FDs, but I don't know if ketosis would be apparent on such a short length of time. Maybe it just makes my body think about using fat as that's all it gets for a couple of hours :)
