5:2 Diet (part II)

I have found the 5:2 diet the most successful way of losing weight that I've ever tried. I've been doing it for about 7 months and have lost 1.5 stones. I'm now at 9 stone at 5"7 and although I was around 1/2 stone lighter before the age of 40, I feel that my present weight is more sensible at the age of 62.
Gosh, that sounds very light!! I am 10st 3 also at 5'7", at 25 I was 9 and a half, but don't expect to see that again - I am 51 (I hate writing that, I still feel 31). I am down from 11 st 8 on this diet and i love it. I would strive for 9 stone something, but am a bit worried about the "face or a$$" thing. i think it is starting to make me look a bit haggard, more shadows.
I tend to stick to the same foods on diet days - OH and i are both doing it (he has only just started, has lost 1 st but has at least 2 to go). Monday we had a veggie and chick pea curry; today we are having prawns on "courgetti spaghetti" (strips of courgette, carrot and shredded cabbage, topped with a tomato sauce and then prawns cooked in a little coconut oil with chilli and garlic, on top). Lunch is either soup or salad. I tend to skip breakfast but OH has some melon.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
It's my second fast day of the week and I'm really struggling today. I'm having to fight the urge to go to the shop and buy a Belgian bun or a bar of chocolate
I don't think t's because I'm genuinely starving though, It's just boredom. it's been a very quiet day at work and normally on days like this I snack at my desk a lot, so it's hard not having that as a distraction.
I've had a banana and a ryvita so far today and have got an innocent veg pot for dinner. I'm going to go for a long walk this evening to keep me busy and keep my mind off food!0 -

I've successfully completed two months since Christmas and have lost nearly 6 kilos to reach my present weight of 59 kilos.
I completed the 5:2 fast diet a couple of years ago but neglected to maintain by doing 1 day a week, so the weight crept back up! I am now going to make sure that if I overeat one day, I will cut back the next.
The 5:2 way of eating is easily the best and most logical way to eat, in my opinion, as I believe we are programmed to feast and fast, just as we would have had to do for thousands of years pre .'modern' man.0 -
I'm only on 2nd week and second day of fasting.
I'm finding it much easier to eat nothing until evening then having a good meal.
Went a bit mad eating yesterday so with today's fast day I am also going to do a 16:8 tomorrow.
Lost 1kg last week and I weigh on Sunday so hoping for a good result. Lost 2 inches off my tummy measurement after the first week so I think I'm losing a bloat
V happy with this
Oh, yeah - may I join you in this way?

I have tried 5-2 several times over past few months never very successfully. I find myself obsessing over food and constantly hungry. Have now tried using vlcd sachets and bars on fast days and this is working. Wouldn't normally do this kind of diet but if it helps in the short term to reeducate my appetite I wil be more than happy.
I have also struggled with being a night worker doing long hours and these fit in perfectly with my schedule.SCP # 034
